Can you see what this little bunny is eating? It’s a bunch of grapes! The motif of a hare eating grapes is rare in Chinese art, but it does appear sometimes in Roman mosaics and sarcophagi. Curators at speculate that this Chinese export porcelain figurine may be a reference to such Roman funerary works. The bunny is one of a pair, both glazed in a distinctive peacock blue.

The Mint Julep is the drink of choice for many attendees at the annual Kentucky Derby horse race. Originally believed to be medicinal, the Mint Julep gained popularity throughout the 1930s and ultimately became the official drink of the Derby. Silver cups, like the one pictured here, allow ice to form on the outside of the glass, keeping your cocktail at a cool temperature. The cup is designed to be held at the upper or lower bands to keep your hands from heating the beverage.
