Big thanks to Brandon King, a returning customer, for allowing us to come out and clear his septic field. We got everything cleared, piled up, and burnt on site. We then got everything graded out smooth. He also wanted a shooting lane cleared so that he and his family could enjoy hunting their own land, so we knocked that out. Thank you again Brandon for the trust in Dirt Works to get the job done.

A big job we took on just out side of Castalia, NC. We stumped several locations on this massive property. The land had recently been logged, we unfortunately had drone issues when we started and couldnt get before pictures, but all together we ended up stumping almost 18 acres for the customer. All debris was burned on site and land was left with a final root rake finish for the customer to use his tractor to disc the land and get it ready for seeding. A big project that turned out great!

SCREAMING HAPPY BIRTHDAY to more than just the man behind the seat that makes all of our customers' dreams come true! 🎉

Wishing a very happy birthday to one of the hardest-working men Cameron Ray Daniels in the industry. Your dedication, long hours (even on your birthday) and commitment never go unnoticed. We're thankful for everything you do and the pride you take in your work each and every day. More than just a great operator, you're essential in making this small business opportunity succeed.

We hope your day is filled with all things that make you smile, abundant blessings from the good Lord and some well-deserved rest (you can laugh here). Help us in wishing him Happy Birthday! 🥳

Dirt Works has been busy working on multiple jobs, but do to the lack of rain, we haven't been able to show these jobs off just yet. This one here though, all the debris had to be hauled off, so we are proud to show the transformation to this lot clearing job we completed in Tarboro. Once the debris was removed, the customer wanted some dirt moved around to help level the lot up, so we took our expertise and made it happen. The job turned out great! A huge shout to Carolina Turf & Lawn for the referral and the help on the job.

Another big project moving right along! 🚜🌲

So far we’ve completed about 6 acres of stumping, with 8.5 acres left to go. It’s always exciting watching a property transform and get one step closer to being ready for its next purpose.

Whether you're clearing land for a homesite, creating a pasture (like this project) or just preparing for future development, we’d be glad to help.

If you’ve got a project in mind, reach out and let’s talk about how we can help get your land ready!

🌧️ Why Do Ponds Leak After a Good Rain? 🌧️

We often get calls from landowners who notice their pond level dropping shortly after a big rain. It seems backwards — shouldn’t a good rain keep a pond full? The truth is, rainfall can sometimes reveal problems that were already there.

Here are a few common reasons ponds struggle to hold water:
🔹soil compaction during construction
🔹 Burrowing animals in the dam
🔹 Decaying roots or vegetation
🔹 Spillway or erosion issues
🔹 Soils that don’t seal well

If your pond fills up after rain but drops quickly, it may be time to take a closer look. Small leaks can turn into bigger problems if left unaddressed.

At Dirt Works – “Your Dreams, We Dig It!” we help landowners diagnose pond leaks and determine the best solution — whether that’s repairing a dam, improving compaction, or sealing the pond basin.

💧 If your pond won’t stay full, don’t ignore it. Small leaks can turn into major repairs if left unchecked.
