New project for the new chapel at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. These five windows depict the founders and major influencers of the Jesuit order of the Catholic Church. St. Francis Xavier, St. Peter Faber, Pedro Arrupe, St. Stanislaus Kostka and St. John Berchmans.

In 1981, I had the opportunity to study with well know stained glass designer Ludwig Schaffrath. I applied his principles to the first opportune commission, the windows of the left. Forty-four years later, the church commissioned me to replace those “rocks” with the design on the right.

One large head...part of a restoration project originally designed by Rudolph "The Maestro" Beunz and fabricated by Charles "CZ" Lawrence in the mid 50's. Six windows 6' x 40' suffered structural failure as a result of incompatible metals used in the framing system.

The glass is cut and placed atop the cartoon (full size drawing) separated by Mylar. We slide the cartoon out from under and check raw glass colors prior to waxing up and painting.
