Shop life: one year ago, while working on the big 2026 calendar, we used sparkles to make April’s page pop. Apparently, they’ve been hitching a ride on this wood type ever since.

West Coast activity alert! Fellow inky hearts at The International Printing Museum in Carson, California, are hosting the 18th Annual Los Angeles Printers Fair on October 17–18, and we’ll be there to share the new things we’ve been making this year!

There will be printing and book arts activities, demonstrations, and nearly 100 artists, makers, and suppliers showing (and selling) their handmade work—plus, tools for handmaking your own work. We’d love to see you or meet you!

What’s on your fall fun itinerary? Many of us here in the shop are fond of a classic road trip, but as the weather cools, it can be a wonderful thing to be a visitor in your own neck of the woods, too, relaxing at home in between a bunch of mini adventures.

We welcome visitors from around the world to Nashville on our tours, in our gift shop, and through our windows as they watch what rolls off the press. It’s a joy to be able to share this shop with fellow Nashvillians, too. Stop in the next time you’re downtown or make a plan to get inky with us!

Finally! A tote large enough to hold every book on your TBR list all at once, PLUS any other treasures you get from your local library or favorite bookshop.

The images and graphic elements that dance with the typography in this tote’s design include sketches drawn by hand over a century ago and sketches added earlier this year. These elements became printable when we cut them into wood or linoleum printing blocks by hand.

An oldie but a goodie, sized for your wall (a print from the original advertising print block) or your noggin (brand spanking new hat)!

1430 on the AM dial (or WENO), a radio station that broadcast from Madison on the east side of town, was the only station committed to exclusively country music programming in the Nashville area in the mid-twentieth century. The station was often the first spot on the dial in Nashville where listeners could hear songs by new country music artists in the 1950s and 1960s.
