This is 39 🥹

I got to wake up this morning another year older, hearing the pitter-patter of little feet on our bedroom floor, feeling the warmth of three tiny bodies crawling on top of me in their cozy jammies, whispering “Happy birthday, Mommy” as they snuggle into my neck (and fight over “the good spot”) all before I’d even opened my eyes. I almost wish I could’ve stayed right there all day.

I used to think growing older was something we were supposed to dread. But now I think it’s actually the best gift we get.

My thirties have been the most transformative years of my life. The decade I got my favorite title: Mom. Every year has grown me in more ways than I could’ve imagined, and just when I think each stage can’t get any better, it does.

Older, wiser mothers I know well (and even sweet strangers in the grocery store) have lovingly reminded me this season with little kids goes impossibly fast. So I’m trying to memorize it. Our almost-four-year-old declaring that I’m “The Birthday Mommy” and our eight-year-old ordering me “don’t come out yet!” The giggles behind the door as party hats go on, the same well-loved, wrinkled, plastic confetti tablecloth they dug up from the basement getting spread across the kitchen table, Jordan cueing up the same Stevie Wonder song that’s been our go-to birthday anthem since before the kids were born. Their handmade “all by myself” gifts, wrapped in crinkled paper and just a little too much scotch tape.

How rich am I that I get handed a tiny box full of someone’s most-cherished treasures? Seashells. Stickers. A rainbow drawing… and a homemade card that *almost* spelled “birthday” right (who really needs that “i” anyway?)

It’s been the sweetest summer with them, fuller than any before it, more memories than I know what to do with, and so much I still want to share here.

But tonight, I just feel so thankful to be a year older, for another year with my four favorite humans, our community… for you.

If you’re reading this, whether you found us three days ago or you’ve been here since before these tiny humans even existed, thank you for being here. It means more than you know 🫶🏻

The only thing better than watching one of your babies walk down the aisle is… ALL THREE 🥹

Last night was the first time we’ve ever gotten to attend a wedding as a family of five (and Ellie’s big debut as a flower girl!) as we celebrated our next door neighbor (who feels more like family) marrying the love of her life!

We got to leave our cameras at home and it was such a gift to get to soak it all in and never once have worry about the light 👏🏻 (Although as you can see, the light was SO good! It’s hard to turn that part of our brains off 🤣)

I know this flower girl/ring bearer season is SO short and one day we’re going to blink and it’ll be one of our own kids walking down the aisle, so we were just living in the joy of every minute of yesterday.

Never want to forget their sweet smiles as they walked down the aisle or the way they just jumped right into the middle of the action on the dance floor (swipe to see what I mean 😂)

Such an honor to celebrate Kennedy and Isaiah! The joy of the Lord shines through you both and we love you two more than words!! 💛

How do I even narrow it down from this weekend?! 🤩 (Swipe to the end to see our fave item from her shot list!)

There’s no greater honor than being chosen by a photographer to photograph THEIR once-in-a-lifetime day, and we have been looking forward to Chelsea + Jerrard’s wedding for so long.

There was so much to love about their day, but what really stuck with us was how beautifully and intentionally God-honoring it was. From start to finish, they never missed an opportunity to point back to the Lord and remind every single person in that room that they weren’t just making a covenant with each other, but with their Creator.

What a gift to get to witness. And capture 🥹

These are just a few of our many faves, but we’re sharing SO much more on the blog! Including the sweetest “first touch” moment that had literally not one dry eye in the place (Jordan and I included 👀) Just comment “MORE” and I’ll send the link to all the sweetness straight to your DMs!

Chelsea and Jerrard, congratulations you two!! Loved getting to be there on your best day ever 🫶🏻

PS I’d love to know which shot is *your* fave! Let me know if you have one!

It seems like just yesterday we were hauling giant car seats through the airport on our backs, nursing babies who wouldn’t take a bottle in cramped backseats, and somehow trying to Tetris a pack-n-play, swim diapers, a monitor, and a bouncy seat into one bag 🫠

And now here we are. It feels surreal (and honestly a little emotional) to be stepping into a whole new season 🥹

Our youngest turns four in just a few months, which means we’re SO close to officially closing the chapter on eight and a half years of the “0-3” stage. And friends… traveling with them is *finally* starting to feel more fun than hard.

I wanted to pull back the curtain on everything that made this trip feel so much smoother (the exact things we’d never travel without again.) Just comment “VACAY” and I’ll DM you the full list of clickable links!

To everyone still in the thick of the baby and toddler years: we see you. I remember toddler days feeling approximately 3,452 hours long 🙃 Everyone kept telling us “cherish it, it goes so fast!” (And they were right, it really does.) But it’s also okay to admit that sometimes just making it to bedtime is *hard.* The early years are no joke.

So if you’re hauling the pack-n-play and counting down minutes to nap time right now, here’s your reminder: it gets easier. Genuinely, measurably easier! The work you’re doing in those little years matters more than you know. And one day, your kids will push their own bags through the airport, you’ll have a free hand for a hot coffee (that you actually get to finish ☕), and you might even sneak in a few pages of your book between building sandcastles 🤯

They really do grow so fast. So grateful for the chance to make these memories with our favorite little humans 🤍

We looked at each other this week and just said… wow 🥹

Not because of the number of photographers who signed up for class… or how many people showed up live… but because of *who* was on the other side of the screen.

We kept thinking about the photographer:

- watching during nap time…

 - surrounded by piles of laundry…

 - or on their lunch break…

  - exhausted by the daily grind

  - or watching late at night after their kids went to bed

The one who loves photography… but sometimes just feel a little stuck and wanting something more. We remember that feeling so vividly, like it was yesterday.

And as we were downstairs teaching, sharing stories and walking through all of it… life was happening upstairs.

We could hear kids giggling, grandparents helping and little voices asking us to please stay 🥹 A life we once could only dream of.

For us, this week wasn’t just about hosting posing classes. Because on the other end were real people. Real families. Real dreams of building something more.

If that’s you… we want you to know you’re closer than you think. We once sat right where you are and can tell you it’s worth putting in the work for what you want, even if people around you don’t get it right now.

We’re so honored for the chance to come alongside you and can’t wait to discover what your own story will be 🫶🏻

P.S. We loved our time with y’all more than you know. You could even say we may “never let it go” 😉

It’s the last one for me 💀

If you’ve ever felt like your posing was awkward, let me be living proof that it doesn’t have to stay that way 🙃

Just comment “POSING” to join the party (and snag our 47 Go-To Poses for Gorgeous Photos for joining class! 🙌🏻)
