It seems like just yesterday we were hauling giant car seats through the airport on our backs, nursing babies who wouldn’t take a bottle in cramped backseats, and somehow trying to Tetris a pack-n-play, swim diapers, a monitor, and a bouncy seat into one bag 🫠

And now here we are. It feels surreal (and honestly a little emotional) to be stepping into a whole new season 🥹

Our youngest turns four in just a few months, which means we’re SO close to officially closing the chapter on eight and a half years of the “0-3” stage. And friends… traveling with them is *finally* starting to feel more fun than hard.

I wanted to pull back the curtain on everything that made this trip feel so much smoother (the exact things we’d never travel without again.) Just comment “VACAY” and I’ll DM you the full list of clickable links!

To everyone still in the thick of the baby and toddler years: we see you. I remember toddler days feeling approximately 3,452 hours long 🙃 Everyone kept telling us “cherish it, it goes so fast!” (And they were right, it really does.) But it’s also okay to admit that sometimes just making it to bedtime is *hard.* The early years are no joke.

So if you’re hauling the pack-n-play and counting down minutes to nap time right now, here’s your reminder: it gets easier. Genuinely, measurably easier! The work you’re doing in those little years matters more than you know. And one day, your kids will push their own bags through the airport, you’ll have a free hand for a hot coffee (that you actually get to finish ☕), and you might even sneak in a few pages of your book between building sandcastles 🤯

They really do grow so fast. So grateful for the chance to make these memories with our favorite little humans 🤍

We looked at each other this week and just said… wow 🥹

Not because of the number of photographers who signed up for class… or how many people showed up live… but because of *who* was on the other side of the screen.

We kept thinking about the photographer:

- watching during nap time…

 - surrounded by piles of laundry…

 - or on their lunch break…

  - exhausted by the daily grind

  - or watching late at night after their kids went to bed

The one who loves photography… but sometimes just feel a little stuck and wanting something more. We remember that feeling so vividly, like it was yesterday.

And as we were downstairs teaching, sharing stories and walking through all of it… life was happening upstairs.

We could hear kids giggling, grandparents helping and little voices asking us to please stay 🥹 A life we once could only dream of.

For us, this week wasn’t just about hosting posing classes. Because on the other end were real people. Real families. Real dreams of building something more.

If that’s you… we want you to know you’re closer than you think. We once sat right where you are and can tell you it’s worth putting in the work for what you want, even if people around you don’t get it right now.

We’re so honored for the chance to come alongside you and can’t wait to discover what your own story will be 🫶🏻

P.S. We loved our time with y’all more than you know. You could even say we may “never let it go” 😉

It’s the last one for me 💀

Happy Easter from the Demos Fam! Celebrating the single greatest event in history with grateful hearts today. Thank you Jesus for the most beautiful, overwhelming gift we didn’t deserve and for teaching us what true love looks like. Our identity, our peace, our faith is not based on our feelings or our circumstances, but on an empty tomb. Thank you Lord for the greatest miracle of all time 🤍

And just like that, our 2020 baby is officially SIX 🥹

It truly feels like she was just born. Emily was the gift we didn’t know we needed the year the world turned upside down, and she’s been coloring our world ever since.

We celebrated mermaid-style with some of our favorite birthday traditions:

• Decorating after bedtime so she wakes up to a surprise
• Homemade gifts from her siblings
• A special breakfast date with Mom
• A birthday “interview” all about her current favorites
• Dinner of her choice at home (she picked steak… because she’s the coolest)
• Birthday blessings where everyone shares what they love about her
• And our newest addition: eating on the special homemade family “celebrate plate”

At her birthday breakfast, she picked up a rose from the centerpiece to smell it. I asked, “Does it smell good?”

She smiled and said, “Yes! It smells just like YOU!” 🥹

To know Em is to love her.

If you ever come over, here are six things you should know:

    1. She will thank you for a homemade gift with the enthusiasm of an actual Disney princess.

    2. You’ll absolutely get a full Broadway performance, complete with costume changes, choreography, and perfectly memorized lyrics (as long as it’s Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.)

    3. She will absolutely beat you at any card game. Sleeping Queens. Uno. You’re doomed. But in her spare time, she’ll happily read you a Cam Jansen mystery.

    4. She sometimes says it’s hard to be the middle because “everyone always wants to play with me.” And honestly… she’s not wrong.

    5. She loves Jesus with her whole heart. This year she started highlighting in her Bible, is confidently reciting memory verses, and truly lives out compassion, empathy, and forgiveness on a daily basis.

    6. You will likely leave with a full heart (and a picture she colored just for you 🙃)

Happy birthday, Emmy Girl! We love you more than words could ever say 🤍

The most redemptive trip 🥹

We knew we wanted to mark the anniversary of Beckett’s accident with something meaningful, so surprising the kids with their first Disney cruise felt so special.

What you don’t see in the pictures: the night before we were supposed to board the ship, one of our kids got violently sick in the hotel. We were up all night managing it all in the tiny hotel bathroom with no washer, no dryer, no way to separate kids, no sleep. We ultimately had to cancel the cruise the next morning and we were all so disappointed.

But the perspective we gained after last year’s accident has been invaluable. Just a year ago, we were on our knees praying our boy would walk away from a skull fracture without brain damage… and by God’s grace, he did. Every single day with our kids is a gift. So if not getting on a cruise is our biggest “problem” of this winter, we’ll take it every time.

We braced ourselves for a week of stomach bugs in a cramped hotel room… and then another parenting miracle happened: no one else got sick! After 48 hours, we realized we were all actually in the clear, took a leap of faith, and somehow booked the very last open room on a ship leaving just two days later. The kids were ELATED. And stepping onto that ship after thinking it wasn’t going to happen made it all feel even sweeter.

I got choked up more times than I can count on this trip. Seeing the kids just be kids, exploring together like little buddies without a care in the world, knowing how different our story could have been. Here we are a year later, watching Beckett climb into the top bunk with wonder in his eyes, seeing all three of them imagine and play together, splash in the waves, fly down the waterslide and soak up all the magic.

And with our unexpected extended stay at the hotel, we introduced them to so many firsts: mini-golf, pickleball, and Beckett’s new favorite: foosball. So many memories we’ll hold forever.

Looking back at these photos, all we feel is gratitude.

Thank you, Lord, for these precious days 🥹✨

So many little moments from this month that I want to bottle up forever 🥹

The time has been FLYING (how is it almost 2026?!) and I didn’t want it to slip by without rounding up a few of my favorite highlights from our Christmas season.

The part that didn’t make the gram? Waking up to loud cries over the monitor when the stomach bug hit, going through our fair share of tissues and nasal rinses and all the other not-so-glamorous parts of parenting through the holidays (if you’re in those trenches now, you’re not alone!)

But so grateful for all the memories we *did* get to make together and the magic season we’re in with our three babies who really aren’t babies anymore. We have officially made it to our first Christmas in seven years without diapers which (aside from the birth of Jesus) might just be the BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER 🤣🙌🏻

Now that our youngest is three, we feel like we’ve entered a brand new (living life out in the world without a diaper bag!) season of parenting, and for as much as we loved the younger years, we’re loving this season with them even more 🥹

We’re excited to sneak away as a couple to reflect on what worked, what didn’t, set new goals and make plans, tweaks and refinements in 2026, but until then we’ll be soaking up this slow week of family board games, not really knowing what day it is and feeling grateful for every minute of it.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Demos Fam!! 💛

Sending you and your family the biggest hugs today!

If you’re reading this, just know I’m so grateful you allow us to share a little slice of life together. Whether you’ve been here from the very beginning or you’re just joining in, thank you so much being here. Thank you for connecting, sharing your thoughts and experiences and for brightening up this little corner of the internet.

After seven years of parenting, we are officially diaper free (!!) nobody cried during family photos (not even Jordan 🤣) and we got *two* photos of all five of us looking and smiling with *zero* head swaps required 🤯 I can’t believe it. These really are the golden days!

Couldn’t be more thankful for our family, our community and a God whose mercies are new every morning. He provides abundantly more than we could’ve ever asked or imagined, and even the hard days are such a gift. Thank you Jesus for who you are and your abounding love. As one of my favorite songs puts it, all our words fall short, but our hearts are so full of gratitude.

Hug your photog friends tight this fall 🤗

Behind every dreamy photo on your feed? Usually a very sweaty photographer 👋🏻

One who obsessively checks the weather forecast, packs bug spray (just in case) and is willing to sound like a full-blown velociraptor if it means getting your toddler to smile 🙃

Whenever someone tells us, “I love how ‘candid’ and ‘natural’ your photos look!” we do an internal happy dance 💃 Because the truth is there’s really nothing “candid” or “natural” about getting all dressed up in coordinating outfits and standing in a field (especially if someone’s in a blazer and it’s 100 degrees 😅)

As photographers, it’s our job to *create* images that reflect the love, joy and connection you feel (even when the people in front of our cameras don’t consider themselves “photogenic” at all).

Somehow we have to nail the light, the lens, the settings, the white balance *and* the posing 😅 No wonder most photogs freeze up mid-session, stress out, repeat poses and leave feeling like they could’ve done so much more. We never want you to feel that way again!

We just released a brand new update to our Posing Course that we’re so excited about, where you’ll be able to see *every* session featured in this video from start to finish (yes! family! couple! senior!) so you can see the real world application and bring it to your very next session. You’ll also get to see all our posing secrets revealed, fresh demonstrations, new cheat sheets for your phone and our Posing Pyramid at a glance! (All our current posing students get the upgrades fo’ free! -even if you enrolled nearly a zillion years ago 🥳)

And if you’ve been thinking about enrolling, there’s never been a better time than during our massive Black Friday Sale happening right now! You can comment “BF25” for a link to learn more! I’d love to know, which session are you most excited to watch? Family, senior or couple?!

P.S. Photographers: Tell me, what’s the *most* behind-the-scenes moment you’ve ever had while shooting? I’ll go first. IYKYK 😂👇🏻
