I removed “work hard” from my vocabulary and my nervous system went haywire.
I stressed because I couldn’t make it easy and my beliefs about hard work meant I felt lazy.
Until I redefined what it actually took to make things work.
Effort.
It doesn’t have to be hard.
It isn’t always easy.
But it can be that simple.
It’s all about the RIGHT KIND of effort too.
If you’re someone who is forcing yourself through “hard work” that looks like operating 20 hours a day. Stop.
If you’re someone who is working hard at writing but you don’t enjoy it and it doesn’t fit your style. Stop.
If you’re trying to force anything, just frickin stop.
We make this harder than it has to be.
And we don’t need to shame rest or effort — but “working hard” is not required and actually trips up a lot of work.
It’s the right kind of effort that gets you where you want in entrepreneurship.
You can work hard and not make a dime to hold onto. You can rest and make thousands.
(Plus human design-wise, there are people who don’t function well in the grind.)
It’s all about harmony and that’s individualistic.
When I started shifting into a life, the whole “It gets to be easy” tripped me up. It actually confuses a lot of us.
— it’s not that it’s always going to be easy. It’s that we make it harder on ourselves than it needs to be — turning hard work/hustle/grind mentality into burnout and incorrect effort.
Effort is required. (The right kind of effort which can be figured out by understanding yourself more — like your masculine and feminine energy or your Human Design type).
I have so much more on this topic but first, tell me in the comments if this is something you’ve struggled with 👇
