Happy to see an older 7000 John Deere Planter now Running 99.9% singulation! 5.5 mph is now no concern for this customer with any seed size he gets.

With the rain coming, I decided to crank it up to 6 mph. With DeltaForce and VSet/VDrive, it didn't change singulation, spanning, or ground contact at all. With the soft and fairly wet soils, DelraForce kept 100% ground contact while lifting the row units with an avg of 100 lb to acquire 100 lb of pressure still on the gauge wheels.
The 2020 monitor lets me know we are still doing a great job, and I believe it!

A common question we get is how much down force is needed for the best stand. We always say that depends on the soil, moisture, and environment.
110-120 lbs of force at the gauge wheels is a pretty standard weight. Subtract 20 lbs in wetter or looser conditions, and add 20-30 lb in dry harder conditions.
But do you know how many lbs you need to tell your Air or Spring system to get to that magical number?

Our 2020 monitor communicates with our weigh pins to do just that. Last year, in a customer's corn field, we actually needed to LIFT the units up so they wouldn't press to hard and cause compaction.

These maps are how much force (-) or (+) was being applied via DeltaForce. The corn and bean stand was nothing short of perfect in all the conditions you can see change within the field.
