I'm so damn tired of the perfectly coordinated and curated facebook feeds with lovely inspirational quotes and copy paste personality where people post what the great and powerful algorithim wants instead of what THEY want.

I'm tired of the grammar checked, dry as s**t captions filled with perfectly picked hashtags that do nothing more than throw your lackluster visual content into the abyss that is the discovery page.

So here is a photo of my daughter at the park where she asked me to photograph her dolls after she posed them and it makes me proud that she picked up some of my cool traits instead of just all my bad behaviors 🤣🤣🤣

And f**k hashtags. If you like this photo/content then show some love. If you don't, then don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you.

"When pigs fly." ​​​​​​​​

That used to be my general attitude towards everything. I had a lot of "who am I to...?" moments and a lot of "I can't." moments as well. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Thing is, when I saw this piggy in it took me back to when I used to feel that way. Talk about the perfect statue to have as a part of your office decor, huh? The pigs ARE flying. They're flying because I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started making the necessary moves that it took to get me to where I wanted to be. ​​​​​​​​

My dreams were not some imaginary thing like an actual pig with wings. My dreams COULD be reality. I COULD be the one taking incredible trips and being there when my kids got off the bus and contributing financially and living a happy and fulfilled life without having to GIVE ANYTHING UP. ​​​​​​​​

Your brain...it's sophisticated, it has so many jobs and one of it's most important jobs is to keep your ass alive.

Our brain does not know the difference between percieved threats and actual ones. The dark alley where you can see the shadow of a man (yes, I love Law and Order) and spending $1000 on a coaching program...fears- one of them real, one of them percieved.

Back to your brain's wonderful ability to throw your entire body into fight flight or freeze- we are CONSTANTLY PROCESSING information from all 5 senses and your brain has NO clue about the quality or source of the information it's being given.

What we focus on expands. You tell yourself that if you pay for that mastermind you may not be able to pay your rent...well. If you tell yourself that in order to always be able to pay your rent without worry you HAVE to join the mastermind...a shift. The money in your account no longer becomes something you fear losing- it becomes a tool to get further ahead.

Ask yourself- what fears are real and which ones are there because they've been deeply engrained over years of conditioning? We all have some work to do, don't we? :)

A mantra/affirmation can change your life.

Felice booked a last minute session with me during a therapist conference back in September 2019.

Just 5 months before this conference my husband left his 9-5 and September was the first month we didn't fight non stop. It was a SUPER hard adjustment and I remember telling her about it while we shot.

She said something that sticks with me day in and day out- "whenever I am going through a hard time I tell myself that this is the lowest i'll ever be"

Wow.

I have found myself saying the same thing to myself multiple times over the last 2 years and I am forever grateful for that one simple sentence.

There is only UP!

When Nicole from contacted me for a shoot I fell IN LOVE with her mats- the designs, the gorgeous customer photos and most of all- her heart and level of passion for her craft.

It's a REAL treat when I get to go see where the magic happens. I love to help my FLIENTS (friendclients) the opportunity to really show their audience who they are and the space in which their passion really comes alive.

There is a long and short answer to this question:
𝕃𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕤𝕨𝕖𝕣: your wants to buy from a human. When you're building a personal brand it's VITAL that you show up and often. Showing up means posting photos of yourself, videos, lives etc.
with humans through a phone or computer screen is hard enough, you don't need to make it even more difficult by not utilizing the ONE thing that builds your know, like, trust faster than anything else- your MONEY MAKER (aka your face)
𝕊𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕥 𝕒𝕟𝕤𝕨𝕖𝕣: STOP GIVING A F**K ABOUT WHAT THE WRONG PEOPLE THINK OF YOU. THE RIGHT PEOPLE LOVE YOU AND CAN'T GET ENOUGH.

The REAL comes when you're outside of your zone.
The biggest growth times in OUR lives came:
➡️ When Dan got let go from his job unexpectedly when we had an 18.5 month old and 5 week old.
➡️ When we moved into a home that was $650 MORE per month than our last.
➡️ When I took out a new credit card JUST to fly across the country and go to see .
➡️ When we took a leap and Dan quit his job to work from home.
➡️ When coronavirus left the whole world home bound and I couldn't do photography for 3 months.
But none of this even compares to the uncomfortable shift we are embarking on in just a few short months.
Sometimes you have to be under a bit of pressure to change drastically. Sometimes you need to be to find another way, a better way, by the when you get too complacent.
All I know, is that our biggest challenges over the last 15 years came from the most change in our routine/flow.
