The City of Franklin has achieved LEED Silver certification, making it the first city in Tennessee to be certified. Launched in 2016, LEED for Cities enables communities to measure and track 14 key metrics that include energy, water, waste, transportation, education, health, safety, prosperity, and equitability. Propelled by the Franklin Sustainability Commission – which includes greenSTUDIO’s Mike Leonard – we are proud to join the ranks of Washington, DC, Phoenix, Arlington, Chicago, and San Jose.

Congratulations to Highwoods Properties and CBRE for taking home multiple awards at last evening's NAIOP Nashville Awards Gala, particularly garnering the Office Lease of the Year Award for our work together on the new Mars Petcare, A Better World for Pets Headquarters in Cool Springs and Development of the Year Award for Bridgestone Corporate Headquarters. Over 600 attendees celebrated the 2017 standouts in commercial real estate and we are proud to take part. Compliments to all of this year’s winners!

Having a blast at USGBC Tennessee 's IMPACT Tennessee! We're thrilled to have one of our projects, Lendlease, be named Green Building of the Year (!), along with Nashville Fire Station 19 taking home the Most Successful Community Engagement Award, and Erica Weeks being acknowledged with a Volunteer Leadership Award. A big thank you to the keynote speaker, Ann Sussman, whose work continually inspires us.

This morning, Erica Weeks celebrated the ribbon cutting of FRA's Innovation Lab with Franklin Road Academy and Mayor Megan Barry. The 2,000 sf lab "provides a dynamic, collaborative learning environment where students are able to use hands-on experiences and technology to build, create, design, and problem solve." You'll find Erica's husband there this summer where he'll be leading the Academy's robotics camp!

Team members Erica Weeks, Heather Osteen Mathias and Claudia Lofton discussed sustainable initiatives employed throughout the project. We're convinced a couple people ran away with basil clippings from the office's cafe when we weren't watching!
