Strategic Doing Fellowship Journey🚀

I made a personal investment in my growth by using my own personal funds in a program I really believe in!

I’m excited to be pursuing certification as be a “Strategic Doing Fellow”! This program enhances my ability to drive collaboration and create actionable strategies for organizations. Strategic Doing empowers teams to turn complex challenges into achievable steps, something I’ve already applied in projects.

Through this fellowship, I’ve gained valuable insights from a diverse group of professionals, which I look forward to bringing to my work with (my side job) Yager Collaborative Solutions, LLC. I’m eager to help organizations build adaptive, results-driven strategies. If you’re interested in how Strategic Doing can benefit your organization, let’s connect!

What an awesome few weeks! I had the chance to teach Project Management 101 to a great group of employees and led an Advanced Facilitation course for ten team members at Crane Army Ammunition Activity.

In the facilitation course, we focused on 10 key exercises that can be used in 80% of workshops—whether it's problem-solving, project planning, or setting goals.

I also just wrapped up a rapid improvement event with a division and facilitated a strategic planning session with senior leaders, tackling critical success factors and barriers to achieving our objectives.

It’s been incredibly rewarding to support our team’s growth! Go Activity Support.

Turn you "ear" for process improvement opportunities!

Have you ever heard these statements at work?
"This process takes too long."
"Someone should capture this process."
"This costs too much."
"We have to do something."
"This is killing us."

Here's a concise 4-step process to address these concerns using a facilitator:

Step 1: Identify and Prioritize Issues
Action: Facilitator-Led Discovery Session
- Objective: Gather and prioritize feedback on process inefficiencies.
- Outcome: A prioritized list of process improvement opportunities.

Step 2: Map and Analyze Current Processes
Action: Facilitator Guides Process Mapping
- Objective: Visualize and analyze current processes to identify bottlenecks.
- Outcome: Detailed process maps highlighting areas for improvement.

Step 3: Develop Actionable Improvement Plans
Action: Facilitator Supports Solution Development
- Objective: Create and evaluate potential solutions.
- Outcome: A clear, actionable improvement plan with timelines and responsibilities.

Step 4: Implement and Monitor Changes
Action: Facilitator Assists with Implementation Oversight
- Objective: Ensure successful implementation and track progress.
- Outcome: Effective implementation of improvements with ongoing monitoring.

Using a facilitator not only saves managers time but also provides an unbiased perspective for effective process improvements.

HAPPY ReD DAY!

I like to think of the last Sunday in June as my personal ReDedication Day or ReD Day.

Think of ReD Day each year as the Sunday before the week that starts the second half of the year.

Think of ReD Day as an opportunity to reflect, remind, reset, and rededicate yourself for the rest of the year:

· Reflect on the year’s first half: what went well, what didn’t, what were the successes, what were the challenges.

· Remind yourself of your vision, what’s important to you, the people you care about, the life you want to live, the activities you find most fulfilling.

¡ Reset your world, potentially do a restart; renew and reenergize.

¡ Rededicate yourself to those thoughts, those ideas, those actions, those affirmations which you know, with help, will produce the results you want.

This Sunday, rededicate yourself to your family, to your friends, to your career, to your goals, to your vision, to your life.

Let’s start the second half of the year, rededicated to living the life we want in joy and fulfillment!

QUESTION: What will you rededicate to? Research says when you write it down, it greatly increases the likelihood you will do it. See mine in the comments. If you're comfortable, share yours.

In Joy,

Michael

(Please pass this on to encourage others to rededicate to their joy.)
