In just a few weeks, little Ivy has reminded me of a few life lessons:

šŸ¾ Be Playful. Life is too short to take yourself so seriously. Chase the ball, jump in the leaves, make everything a game.

šŸ¾ Have No Fear. Try new things, leap off the couch (safely šŸ˜…), explore new cornersā€”you wonā€™t grow if youā€™re always timid.

šŸ¾ Trust Your Feelings. Puppies are masters of emotional intelligence. They know who feels safe, who needs a cuddle, and when to simply rest their head on your knee.

šŸ¾ Ignore the Noise. My puppy doesnā€™t care whoā€™s watching or judging. Sheā€™s going to tumble, wag, and run full speed anyway.

šŸ¾ Go for the Gusto. Eat with joy. Run like the wind. Love like your heart might burst.

šŸ¾ Find Joy in the Morning. Watching the sunrise on our early walks has reminded me the beauty of early mornings.

šŸ¾ Greet Your People with Pure Love. The way my puppy greets my husbandā€”tail wagging, whole body wiggling with happinessā€”has inspired me to greet the people I love with that same openā€‘hearted joy.

If a 9ā€‘weekā€‘old puppy can live like that, imagine what we could do if we did the same. šŸ¶šŸ’›

The most important dating question nobody asks early enough - relationship deal breakers. Most people think this sounds too serious for early dating, but this simple question became a relationship game changer.

Think about it - how many times have you gotten deep into feelings with someone only to discover they have habits you absolutely cannot live with? The messy person when you need organization. The homebody when you crave adventure. The spender when you save every penny.

Having these conversations upfront isnā€™t about being difficult or picky. Itā€™s about respecting everyoneā€™s time and emotional energy.Ā 

The uncomfortable conversations early on prevent heartbreak later on.

I recently listened to a presentation on executive presence and the power of first impressionsā€”make eye contact, smile, acknowledge people by name. All great advice.

But one thing we often overlook is the energy we bring into a roomā€”whether itā€™s in person or virtual. That energy speaks long before we do. And itā€™s shaped by the mindset, attitude, and intention we carry with us, often set well before we log in or walk through the door.

As we think about making strong first impressions, letā€™s not forget to check in with ourselves:

I donā€™t talk about my book as much as I should. (Slide āž”ļøāž”ļøāž”ļø)

Which is funnyā€”because itā€™s literally about visibility. About owning your brand. About not shrinking.

And yetā€¦ even as someone who deeply believes in the power of personal branding, I still get shy.

Imposter syndrome still creeps in.
I question if Iā€™m being ā€œtoo much.ā€
I wonder if I should just let the book speak for itself.

But hereā€™s the truth:

The people who need your light will never find it if you keep dimming it.

So today, Iā€™m choosing to take my own advice and share a few highlights:

ā€¢ Itā€™s been featured in conversations, workshops, and book clubs.

This is your reminder: donā€™t hold back. shine.
