MEET CHEF BASQUIAT:
One who will devote a whole day whiffing, and ogling over spices at Mellah spice souk in Marrakech, Morocco. chef Basquiat dubbed by most kinfolks as Shi has found his culinary inspiration at an early age, then later schooled in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Passion and respect for food are two of the core values for Basquiat. Inspired by his worldly travels that thrusts him to mesh spices from khari baoli, Delhi with dark Rum from Havana that embodied eatables. His recipes use of ingredients, and aroma pair the perfect visual that weds the flavors on the palate.

Quality, fresh genuine ingredients, cooking and letting the flavours shine through his love of cooking and entertaining comes from his mother’s kitchen and from his desire to recreate the wonderful dishes since the tender age of 9 years.

Chef-owner managing The Gourmet Yard’s kitchen with one thing in mind: The fine dining experience for guests in both creative presentation and extraordinary flavours.
