FROM JAMES
The time has come for us take a big long break from running tournaments. With John's new direction in life, my new post office job and going back to school part time at UWF, there just is not enough time for us to continually meet our standards of running premiere events.
It was a great run. Paying out over $10K with over 350 participants at Wind Creek Casino Regional, bringing the ACL Southeast Conference tournament to your backyard in Andalusia, breaking the ACL record with 33 sit n go blind draws at that event, and paying out over $140K in over 120 events ran, we never budged on what we thought a professionally ran tournament should look like.
We hope yall will support the directors that get out of their little areas and comfort zones, get creative, and get added money to their tournaments. Support the ones that work hard to make it a players tournament. We worked hard in our 3 years to add over $30K to numerous tournaments but the support wasn't always there and it became not worth it. So, if someone is giving $1K for social players division, please go to it.
Another reason is simply there are way too many clubs or cliques around here. We could have the biggest turnouts every week if we all wanted but with multiple options every night of the week, people spread too thin. That hurts player development. Tournaments on top of tournamwnts week in and week out really has hurt this area. The amount of tournaments has really diluted the great accomplishments of many players.
Lastly, this is not a breakup of Holeshot. We will still be playing together and it's a great time for us to refine our game and focus only on our own games and be as good of a team as we can be. I'm honestly looking forward to that part.
So, today I am dissolving our LLC, canceling our business insurance, and staging items to sale that will be in a later post. Its a little somber but it will relieve lots of stress and let us focus on our lives and our own games.
Good luck out there. Thanks for the support and see yall on the courts.
