As the Museum's president, I have just penned an article for The National EMS Museum's upcoming newsletter but many of my Facebook friends don't get that publication. So, in the interest of expanding the reach on behalf of The National EMS Museum, please read and share this short article.
Two years ago, our board decided to take The National EMS Museum from a dedicated group of folks who would visit EMS conferences with a variety of old EMS gear to the next level. To do so, we needed to get a museum professional involved and, consequently, we decided to retain the services of Kristy Van Hoven, our Director.
It has not been an easy road and there have been some bumps along the way. Without Kristy’s unflagging willingness, we would not reach the level of success that has come to pass. Over the past ninety days, the Museum has secured some heretofore unheard-of financial support and the first half of 2020 will see us at venues in Ohio, Florida, California, and Illinois. We will be establishing not only our typical “run-of-the-show” displays but will be establishing the placement of some exhibits that will remain in place for months and perhaps longer.
Your National EMS Museum is coming of age and we look forward to seeing it become your place to visit, either in person or virtually, to share in the heritage of our profession but to provide some phenomenal resources for those engaged in educating those who are new to EMS where we have come from.
If you have not already done so, please become a Member of The National EMS Museum. To do so, simply visit us at
