As we’ve started sharing more about The Business Center, one question that keeps coming up is how it compares to organizations like a Chamber of Commerce. That is completely understandable since this type of space is still a newer concept for our area.

The Business Center is not a Chamber of Commerce and it isn’t intended to function like one. While there may be occasional free resources, events or opportunities available, the core purpose of The Business Center is different.
It was created for people who need access to workspace and resources without taking on the responsibility of maintaining their own office. As a membership-based space, people can choose the level of access that makes sense for their routine instead of committing to more than they need.

Memberships support the operation of the space and make it possible to offer workspace options, shared resources, meeting areas, equipment and continued improvements over time.

There isn’t one type of person The Business Center was built for. Some people may work remotely. Some may run businesses. Some may need meeting space, quiet focus time or simply a productive place to stop for part of the day. Use it regularly, occasionally or only when the need comes up; the goal is flexibility.

This space wasn’t created to replace organizations that support businesses. It was created to offer another option — a place where people can work, connect and create.
