My corner in my office that got cleaned and organized yesterday! (Yes, I’m a collector! 🤪)

Earliet this year I got this L-shaped hutch desk and it was the BEST purchase. Before I had everything in different corners of the room. Now it’s all in one place! Trust me when I say every drawer, space, and shelf is filled with my craft stuff. The only thing I have separate is a painting cart and my fabric in the closet!

Okay for real this time!!! 😂
Let’s get this business going! The last post I made (January 1st) was saying I wanted to get this little business of mine off the ground again, and here we are almost in September and I didn’t do anything about it. 🙃
BUT in my defense, life is hard when you’re a stay at home mom with an adventurous four year-old that constantly needs to be entertained. Iykyk
Not that I’m complaining, but sometimes running a small at home business has to get put on the back burner so you can be present and enjoy the moments with your littles before they get too big!

However, starting next Wednesday my little mini me will be starting Pre-K! Not sure how we got here so quickly, but it’s happening. 🥲

With that being said, I want to really kick this off since she’ll be in school four days a week instead of two like the last two years. This will give me more time to work with you in your homes if you are in need of organizing, a room revamp, a good purge, or all three! 🤩

Throughout the next few days, I’ll be posting what all my services entail, so stay tuned!

I kind of forgot about this little business for a little bit. 😅

To be honest with you, 2024 was a bit of an odd year mental health wise, but with the new year, I’m ready to get back on track!

And speaking of - let’s get YOUR HOME back on track! I am constantly in a state of purging things from my home and organizing what we have to make our home flow better.

Disclaimer because I’ve had a lot of people assume this in the past - I do NOT clean homes. My sole purpose with this business is to help you purge items in your home that me be causing clutter and chaos. From there, we figure out the best organizing system with the items that you do have. This who process can be done in any room of your home! Closets, pantries, kitchens, etc. Once we assess what needs to be organized, I’ll go and buy bins and supplies for you and then get to work!

Consultation appointments are FREE! Hourly rate begins once I come to your home and we get to work purging and organizing and also time clocked in for shopping.

Today, I would like to showcase my first client that I had for this year!

This is an office/craft room for the sweetest work from home mama (and not saying that because she bought me coffee on the work days 🤪 she was genuinely super sweet!). Upon meeting, she told me she was just looking to be able to breathe in the room and wanted to be able to use her desk to work at again (she had been working from her coffee table).

After a lot of purging (still so proud of her for filling up two FULL trash bags), new organizing bins and labels, and a little furniture rearranging, we managed to turn this in to a functional room again for her and her family! She no has a comfortable place for working, and the entire room is now sectioned off with separate spots for sewing, a Cricut corner, work corner, AND we were able to free her comfy chair of clutter and put shelves up for books for a reading/relaxation corner! The pegboard was a personal favorite for both of us. Nothing is better in a craft room than a giant pegboard.😎

My name is Lauren Baker and I’m so excited to introduce my newest venture - The Modern Edit!
I am a SAHM and run another small business - Modern Rose Creative - from my home where I create fun signs for weddings and events, vinyl work, and jewelry making.

I’ve always had pride in a well organized home. I watch The Home Edit like some watch The Bachelor. Clea and Joanna are my spirit animals, all the way down to Clea’s love for champagne and Joanna’s obsession with headbands.
Some time last year I wanted to bring my love for organization to others, but life just got a little busy and I didn’t do much about it. In 2024, that changes! So far this year I have helped a full-time working mom and crafter bring new life to her office, and I’m in the process of helping another family get their craft and game room together!
