With bear season upon us, here are some skinning tips for the style of mount your looking to get. When these tips are done properly, I can produce you one of the best bear mounts there is. Anyone that is looking to have me to do a bear for them should message me personally even before season starts. Have fun and enjoy this kick off to fall

1) Skin the bear as soon as humanly possible. (Dont let it set in the whole over night).
2) Keep the hide dry. Water is a breeding ground that will make your hair slip
3) Get that hide cooled right away. Lay it out in the freezer flat at least until it feels cool before wrapping it up and putting it into a bag. Even then, fold it loosely
4) Your spending lots of time and money on this bear hunting memory. Dont assume the butcher or friend knows what they are doing when it comes to skinning and preserving the hide. There literally hundreds of diagrams and YouTube videos out there now days. Study up before the hunt. (I lost a 460 # boone and crocket bear myself once by trusting the butcher. All the hair slipped right off it in the tanning because it wasnt cooled properly)
