The security situation in Cauca, Colombia has deteriorated over the last two years. With the coffee harvest underway and an election approaching, tensions are extremely high for coffee farmers on the ground.
I recently sat down with Luis Carlos Sossa, Founder of Cosecha Traders, to discuss the realities facing smallholder coffee producers today. From unpredictable weather to growing security concerns fueled by the co***ne trade, many farmers are navigating major challenges that continue to disrupt rural communities and complicate the movement and trade of coffee throughout the region.
