The security situation in Cauca, Colombia has deteriorated over the last two years. With the coffee harvest underway and an election approaching, tensions are extremely high for coffee farmers on the ground.

I recently sat down with Luis Carlos Sossa, Founder of Cosecha Traders, to discuss the realities facing smallholder coffee producers today. From unpredictable weather to growing security concerns fueled by the co***ne trade, many farmers are navigating major challenges that continue to disrupt rural communities and complicate the movement and trade of coffee throughout the region.

Our new Peru offering is a fully washed coffee with vibrant notes of strawberry lemonade, bittersweet chocolate, and soft nectarine sweetness 🤩

This roast is from the Perfiles Cooperative in Cajamarca, Peru, a Fair Trade and Organic-certified group founded in 2019 and made up of 219 smallholder farmers.

Cooperatives like Perfiles are essential for producers in countries such as Peru, giving farmers access to better pricing, sustainability resources, quality training, and stronger export opportunities while helping support local farming communities for generations to come.

Clean, bright, and refreshing, it’s a perfect coffee for the summer season, and Maiden Coffee is excited to share it with you!🍓🍋🍫🍑
