With notes of grapefruit, Earl Grey, and dark chocolate, our latest release with Sebastian Ramirez has quickly become a Maiden team favorite. ☕️

But there’s much more to the coffee than what’s in the cup. A fourth-generation coffee farmer with over 12 years of experience, Sebastian Ramirez is dedicated to making coffee exciting, innovative, and sustainable. His farm in Quindío has evolved from a large coffee estate into a specialty-focused processing facility, where he oversees everything from cherry selection and sourcing to the development of unique flavor profiles.

Sebastian is also continuing to push forward, with plans to cultivate exclusive varietals like Geisha and Pink Bourbon. His hands-on approach and commitment to innovation are what make this coffee and his work so exciting.

Grown at 1,744 MASL, this coffee is one of the cleanest, most balanced Pink Bourbons in Sebastian’s portfolio. Expect a layered cup of Grapefruit, Earl Grey, and Dark Chocolate 🤩

At Fincas El Placer in Quindío, Sebastian oversees every step- from cherry selection and processing to developing distinct flavor profiles.

We’ve got a lot of exciting coffees on the way, and first up is our newest Single Origin from Sebastian Ramirez . We’ve been looking forward to sharing this one, and after a few rounds of roasting and cupping, we’ve landed on the roast profile that truly lets this harvest shine.

The security situation in Cauca, Colombia has deteriorated over the last two years. With the coffee harvest underway and an election approaching, tensions are extremely high for coffee farmers on the ground.

I recently sat down with Luis Carlos Sossa, Founder of Cosecha Traders, to discuss the realities facing smallholder coffee producers today. From unpredictable weather to growing security concerns fueled by the co***ne trade, many farmers are navigating major challenges that continue to disrupt rural communities and complicate the movement and trade of coffee throughout the region.
