Yes, we are selling our vineyards and closing our winery after 34 harvests for Double Oak Vineyards & 23 vintages for Double Oak Winery. What a long, fine trip this has been!

"2016 Double Oak Vineyards Chardonnay: This Double Gold Medal winner hails from the Nevada City area in the Sierra Foothills. The high elevation vineyards allow for a long, cool, growing season which develops complex, balanced flavors in the grapes. This is classic California chardonnay with a rich mouthfeel and notes of green apple, Meyer lemon and butterscotch."

Double Oak has done very well in recent wine competitions. We are proud to state that all our currently available Double Oak wines have won awards in wine competitions.

Here are the awards that these delicious Double Oak wines have won:

2013 Chardonnay: Gold & Best of Class of Region at the CA State Fair; a Double Gold at the Calaveras County Fair; Silver medals (4 in all) at the Amador and El Dorado County Fairs, Pacific Rim and SF Chronicle wine competitions; and a Bronze at the New World International.

2013 Rosé: Bronze medals at the Amador and Calaveras County Fairs.
2011 Merlot: Bronze medals at the Amador and El Dorado County Fairs.
2009 Merlot: Double Gold at the New World International; a Silver at the El Dorado County Fair; 4 Bronze medals at the West Coast Wine Competition and Amador and Calaveras County Fairs.
2009 Zinfandel: Silver Medal at Pacific Rim; Bronze medals at the CA State Fair, Riverside International, West Coast Wine Competition, and Amador and Calaveras County Fairs.
2008 Zinfandel: Silver Medals at the CA State Fair and El Dorado County Fair and a Bronze at the Calaveras County Fair.
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon: Gold at Calaveras; Silvers at the New World International, Pacific Rim, Orange County Wine Society, El Dorado & Amador County Fairs; and 2 Bronze Medals at the CA State Fair & West Coast Wine Competition.

All these delicious, award winning wines are available for tasting and purchase at the Double Oak Vineyards & Winery tasting room every Saturday from 11am - 5pm. They are also available at several markets in the local area.
