20/Twenty Strategic Consultants was honored to partner with the Community Foundation of Louisville to deliver today’s Give for Good Louisville training.

More than a workshop, this was an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to build meaningful connections, exchange ideas, strengthen their fundraising strategies, and prepare to make the most of Louisville’s biggest day of giving.

We are tremendously proud of our team and grateful to the Community Foundation of Louisville for trusting us to help create an engaging and impactful experience. Today demonstrated what is possible when strategy, collaboration, and community come together.

A gift can open the door—but the relationship is what keeps it open.

I had the opportunity to facilitate another session with one of our Nonprofit Peer Advisory Groups, focused on “Beyond the Gift: Building Donor Relationships That Last.”

We talked about the importance of moving beyond simply asking for support and instead building genuine, long-term relationships with donors through gratitude, communication, engagement and shared vision.

The strongest donor relationships are not transactional. They are rooted in trust, connection and a clear understanding of the impact we can make together.

I’m grateful for the nonprofit leaders who came ready to share, learn and grow. There is something powerful about bringing leaders around the same table to exchange ideas and help one another become stronger.

The gift matters—but the relationship matters even more.

Small Business Peer Roundtable at 20/Twenty

Today we hosted a Small Business Peer Roundtable at the 20/Twenty office with two outstanding entrepreneurs: Yolanda Cargill of Cargill Construction and Melvin Davey of MHC821 HVAC.

These sessions are designed to be more than a meeting—they’re a working incubator for small business owners who are serious about growth. We spent time digging into:

Real revenue goals
Pricing and profit strategy
Marketing and customer pipelines
Operational challenges in the field
Next-step action plans for the next 90 days

No fluff. No theory. Just practical strategy, honest conversation, and clear next steps.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and at 20/Twenty we’re committed to creating spaces where owners can think, plan, and grow together.

✨ Fundraising Isn’t About Money First — It’s About Clarity.

Grateful to spend time this week leading a Foundations & Goal Setting Workshop with the team at Bethany Legacy Foundation as part of their Learning Lab series.

We focused on something I believe deeply in:
👉 Clarity before capacity.

Before organizations chase new dollars, grants, or partnerships, they have to be clear on:

What problem they’re truly solving

Who they’re called to serve

What success actually looks like

And how their story connects to a funder’s mission

When that foundation is solid, fundraising becomes aligned, not exhausting.

What made this session especially meaningful was working with fundholders and nonprofit leaders who are deeply committed to impact—not just activity. The conversation went beyond tactics and into purpose, sustainability, and long-term effectiveness.
