Small Business Peer Roundtable at 20/Twenty

Today we hosted a Small Business Peer Roundtable at the 20/Twenty office with two outstanding entrepreneurs: Yolanda Cargill of Cargill Construction and Melvin Davey of MHC821 HVAC.

These sessions are designed to be more than a meeting—they’re a working incubator for small business owners who are serious about growth. We spent time digging into:

Next-step action plans for the next 90 days

✨ Fundraising Isn’t About Money First — It’s About Clarity.

Grateful to spend time this week leading a Foundations & Goal Setting Workshop with the team at Bethany Legacy Foundation as part of their Learning Lab series.

We focused on something I believe deeply in:
👉 Clarity before capacity.

Before organizations chase new dollars, grants, or partnerships, they have to be clear on:

What problem they’re truly solving

Who they’re called to serve

What success actually looks like

And how their story connects to a funder’s mission

When that foundation is solid, fundraising becomes aligned, not exhausting.

What made this session especially meaningful was working with fundholders and nonprofit leaders who are deeply committed to impact—not just activity. The conversation went beyond tactics and into purpose, sustainability, and long-term effectiveness.
