Earlier this month, we went on a little vacay to Eastern Pennsylvania, to visit my aunt and uncle--a long overdue visit, for sure! Fantastic color in the trees, even though we were about a week past prime leaf color.

While we were out there, I got to cross off one of my bucket list items: attending Philidelphia Miniaturia. WOW. Well over 200 miniature vendors from all over the world--the best of the best! I bought a few treasures, but came back with so many ideas!!!

So out came the clay. First, a pumpkin pie--first time I've tried it, and really happy how it came out!

Then, since the little family that lives in my dollhouse, the Smoll family, will soon celebrate Thanksgiving--I got their turkey started for them. Roasted to perfection, with broasted potatoes, cranberries, and lemon. YUM!

(And no, I don't make these to sell--just wanted to share what I've been up to!)

Tonight I'm working on things for my dollhouse--my 'dream' dollhouse I've wanted since the early '90s, and finally got in 2024.
It's still a long way from done--but I just have to share these adorable mini pumpkin salt and pepper shakers! The file is from UniqueTinyThings on Etsy, and it is just adorable! (I just HAD to make them--I have a real set on my counter right now!)

Anyhow--enjoy the small things in life!

Working on more little dresses for the Zuru My Mini Babies this week! Last week, I posted 8 dresses with shoes, and they were sold out in a day and a half! WOW!

So, after letting my sore fingertips heal up a bit, it's back to hand-sewing and getting more ready to post this week. They are so fun to make, and I am 'thimble-shopping' so I don't get sore fingers this time around.

For what it's worth:

Next Monday, 7/13/25, I will be raising my shipping rates, thanks to the postage rate increase here in the US. At this time, I'm not sure how much it will be. I use PirateShip and get a discounted rate--which is why I've been able to hold my shipping cost down to $5 for so long--but I won't be able to after the increase.

For instance, MOST of my shipping actual postage cost runs between $4.50 to $5.00 now, not including box and packaging. A few go over that, but most are just under $5, and it all pretty much evens out overall.

The order I'm working on currently, which should be about 8 ounces when I send it, will go this week for $5. Next week, it looks like it will cost $6.50 or more.

I like keeping a flat rate shipping as it is easier for all of us, instead of going by weight of each tiny toy or car seat. And I won't compromise on my packaging--I want to be sure you get your items in a way that they are fully protected from the horrors of being bounced around by the USPS system.

So, on Monday, I'll be comparing pricing and re-setting my flat rate, to give you a good deal on shipping without taking a loss every time I ship a package.

My best 'guess' at this time is that it will be somewhere between $6.50 and $7.00.

I hate to have to do it, but I wanted you all to be forewarned.

Catching you up a bit on what I've been working on . . . crib mobiles for your doll's cribs! I have several different ones right now (carousel, nautical, and airplanes), and a few new ones in the works (panda?, zoo animals?, forest animals?). What theme do you need for your mini nursery? All are done in 1/12 scale.

Long-ish story--but here goes:

Originally, I had planned to shut down everything at the end of 2024. Let's face it, you can go to a lot of places (libraries, craft maker-spaces) and make your own tee shirts, decals, tumblers, etc. I couldn't do resin tumblers any more due to health concerns, so I was just going to close up shop.

But I didn't--quite.

I am not doing custom embroidery or tumblers or decals any more. that DID end at the end of 2024. But I kept my vendor's license and such, just in case I changed my mind. I had gotten back in to making miniatures again, something I've loved doing for years but had gotten away from as the business got busier.

The first of March started a new adventure for me. I had gotten a 3D printer in November, and there was a need for some things made in the USA that could be shipped cheaply to US miniaturists and collectors, especially those getting the Zuru My Mini Babies. And that took off.

If you check my website now, you'll find miniature car seats, walkers, rocking horses, toys--wonderful little collectibles for your mini babies, dollhouses, or dioramas.

I'm excited about this new chapter in my business! If there are things you would like to see added, drop me a message. In the meantime, you'll find me at 1) my grandsons' baseball games, 2) a hockey game, or 3) playing in my dollhouse!
