Last weekend I was part of a group of high school and college basketball referees who took an opportunity to learn and be evaluated while working the BCAM/MHSAA Girls Basketball Showcase at GVSU. The lectures, film review and on-court work were well worth the time. Saw many high-level teams and very talented young ladies who can play! The coaches and parents were great too. They even gave me an O-lineman number! LOL Cheers to all my fellow officials who take time to grow in the offseason!

Last weekend I was part of a group of high school and college basketball referees who took an opportunity to learn and be evaluated while working the BCAM/MHSAA Girls Basketball Showcase at GVSU. Year 20-something is underway as a high school basketball official. It keeps me off the couch in the winter months, get some cardio (see pic below) and definitely helps me practice my emotional intelligence. The things I hear from the fans are pretty, um, interesting??? I love interacting with the coaches and kids.
