✨ T R A N S F O R M A T I O N ✨
This was the BIG project, the show stopper, the thing that took the most time; the vaulted ceilings! In the before photo, you can clearly see the wall that was there separating these two spaces into a den and living room. The kitchen was in the middle of the apartment right when you walked in. In terms of function, this wasn’t cutting it for me. Not to mention, I wanted the kitchen bigger and the layout to flow more openly. The wall came down and the ceiling was vaulted up about 7 feet, welcoming the attic windows into the main living and kitchen space. What was drab, dark, and non functional, is now open, bright, airy, and the perfect space to host the holidays!

If you haven't seen the episode yet, it will continue to stream on Magnolia Network for the foreseeable future; so don't feel like you missed it! You can catch it anytime from streaming on discovery+ or MAX!

In the meantime, we wanted to make some fun posts regarding some of the cool transformations and some more of the story behind them.
First, we have the book nook! This was always here and the most charming space in the apartment. We aren't sure what it was before, but this step up gave the room so much character. We took out the door and it was easily converted into open shelving. Bryan turned a walnut tree from our property into these beautiful solid floating walnut shelves. We left them a natural finish and they look absolutely beautiful with the black backdrop. Added a cool light fixture (that is actually a sconce turned into a flush mount) and there you have it! A fun and interesting book nook! What else would you like to see? Comment below!

Hello everyone! We just received confirmation from the network that currently, the show "First Time Fixer" on Magnolia Network is only available for streaming on Max or Discovery+. It is currently not available on cable at the moment and delayed on other streaming services.
If anything changes, we will keep you posted!

A Message from Nikki & Bryan:

Wow!!!! All we can say is we are so overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from all our friends and family on this platform ❤️ Bryan and I really worked so hard on this project. We are so thrilled with how the episode turned out. So much more that wasn’t shown; we filmed hours and hours of footage and it was compiled into a 23 minute episode! I think the network did a phenomenal job of condensing it and highlighting all the parts that needed to be shown. I will share more about unaired footage once I have a minute to process all this ✨🥹
Special Thank You to my mom, Joanie and Gammy, Donna Lee for being so supportive of us during this time they totally stole the show! To all my sisters, Bryan's brother's, and his Dad- Vince (his right hand man). We honestly couldn't have done this without the support of our family.

To Chip and Jo for choosing us, the directors, executive producers, producers, and editors on Magnolia Network for bringing all this to life and the talent of our camera guy Shane and PA Libby! Shane films for so many shows on Magnolia including my favorite show that takes place in Grand Rapids- The Established Home with Jean Stoffer Design

To all our help and the small business that helped with this project; those featured: Kozlowski’s Hardwood Floor Refinishing for your awesome skills- the floors turned out great! Caitlyn Williams for your beautiful artwork that will become such a landmark for our downtown, and Insulate My Home owner Sean Polce for being another right hand man! Some business and individuals that weren't show, but were such an integral part- Jimmy Roofing in Ypsilanti, Krzyske Bros Co New Boston Coney and Grill (for feeding Bryan on all those nights he wasn't home), Brooke Brock, Real Estate Broker and a cameo in the store of The Vintage Market Mercantile and last but not least, my dearest friend Adrian Edwards and her kiddos for helping me with assembling all the furniture!

Gosh, so much has gone in to this and all we can say is we are just thrilled that our town has a place on Magnolia Network ! We have more big plans coming and until then, stay tuned! ✨
