"We're fine. We have antivirus."

Bryon says he's heard some version of that more times than he can count. Usually from organizations that are, in fact, not fine.

That's the thing about IT risk: an environment can run smoothly for years and still be carrying real exposure. Nobody notices, because nothing has broken yet.

In the newest episode of Edge of Excellence, Derek Murphy, Senior Consultant at iuvo, 20+ years in IT, walks through what a strategic IT assessment actually uncovers:
→ Dormant admin accounts that were disabled, never deleted, and are one click away from being useful to someone else
→ Permissions nobody has audited in years, which become data leakage the moment you turn on AI
→ Documentation written three versions ago, which Derek argues is worse than no documentation at all
→ Microsoft 365 licenses quietly costing six figures a year
→ Backups that aren't backups

His larger point: an assessment isn't a hardware inventory. It's a business review. The question isn't "what do you own," it's "what's slowing your people down, what's costing you money, and is this environment ready for where the business is going next."

What does growth actually mean?

Revenue is one measure, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

For iuvo, being named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 is an opportunity to look beyond the number and ask a more important question:
What made that growth possible?

Over the past three years, we've focused on:
→ Delivering measurable value to our clients
→ Becoming strategic advisors
→ Going deeper in the areas where we can create exceptional results
→ Investing in operational excellence, automation, and AI
→ Empowering our people to accomplish more without simply adding headcount

As Bryon Beilman, President & CEO, puts it: “The revenue growth reflects where we've been, but our investment in innovation and AI is what will drive where we're going.”

We explored what our Inc. 5000 recognition really says about how iuvo is growing, where we've invested, and what we're building for what's next.

Meet Christine 👋

Christine is a Senior IT Consultant at iuvo, where she brings deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and related technologies to help our clients get the most out of their technology.

Christine graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Through the twists and turns of life, her career evolved from music and education into IT, and we’re glad it did! 🎶💻

Her curiosity and love of learning extend well beyond technology, too. Christine has recently developed a passion for trail hiking and Caminos, combining physical challenges, time in nature, reflection, and cultural experiences.

Fun fact: This spring, Christine walked the final section of the Northern Via Francigena from Viterbo to Rome. 🇮🇹🥾 Along the way, she experienced the local culture, challenged herself physically, and took plenty of time to appreciate the journey. Now she’s already looking forward to planning her next adventure.

We’re lucky to have Christine’s expertise, adaptability, and love of learning on our team. 🚀

Meet Jesse 👋

Since joining iuvo in 2011, Jesse has worn just about every hat there is, which means he brings a pretty unique perspective to how we work, serve our clients, and continue to evolve as a company.

Today, Jesse is focused on creating a great client experience by removing barriers to working with iuvo and making sure our clients have access to the best services and solutions the industry has to offer. He’s passionate about making things easier, better, and more valuable for the people we work with.

Fun fact: When Jesse was born, his parents were living off the land without running water, electricity, or even a phone. Maybe that was the inspiration for his career in IT, or maybe he just wanted to make sure everyone had Wi-Fi. 😄

When he’s not helping make the iuvo experience better, you’ll most likely find Jesse outside skiing or mountain biking with his family or with Maine Adaptive. 🎿🚵

We’re lucky to have someone with Jesse’s experience and perspective on the iuvo team!💚

When we introduced our refreshed brand earlier this year, one phrase sparked a lot of curiosity: Strategically Human.

So, what does it actually mean?

To us, being Strategically Human means being intentional about where technology creates value and where people do.

AI, automation, and intelligent systems can help us move faster, operate at greater scale, and make more precise decisions, but technology alone doesn’t determine what’s possible.

People do.

Our judgment. Our creativity. Our expertise. Our ability to connect, understand, and imagine what comes next.

Being Strategically Human means knowing where technology can amplify those strengths and where human insight should remain at the center.

It means asking not only, “What can technology do?” But more importantly: “What could people do if technology helped them do more?”

That’s the thinking behind our tagline, Strategically Human.

Technology is most powerful when it expands human potential.

Curious what a more intentional approach to technology could look like for your organization?

Is your cloud bill growing faster than expected? ☁️💸

Cloud makes it incredibly easy to spin up resources, but that convenience can quickly become a cost problem.

On the latest episode of Edge of Excellence, Jessica and Bryon sit down with Brian O’Neill, Principal Consultant at iuvo, to talk about what’s really behind runaway cloud costs and how organizations can take back control.

They dig into:
🔹 Forgotten and over-provisioned resources
🔹 AWS & Azure cost optimization
🔹 Right-sizing and scaling
🔹 Cloud governance and guardrails
🔹 Shadow IT
🔹 Infrastructure as Code
🔹 Budgets, alerts, and cost visibility
🔹 When the cloud may not be the most cost-effective option

The biggest takeaway?

Cloud governance shouldn't be about slowing your teams down. It should give them the freedom to move quickly, with the right guardrails in place to keep costs and risk under control.

If your organization is managing AWS or Azure and wondering where your cloud spend is going, this conversation is worth a listen.

Meet Ken 👋

From the classroom to IT support, Ken brings a unique mix of problem-solving, communication, and technical curiosity to the iuvo team. A former public school teacher and lifelong tech hobbyist, he’s now a rapid responder and remote support technician, helping clients tackle everything from day-to-day break/fix needs to systems administration.

Ken’s ability to communicate clearly, delegate effectively, and jump in when something needs fixing makes him a valuable part of the team and a great example of the people-first approach we bring to IT.

Fun fact: Ken picked up golf two summers ago. He may still be working on his swing, but he’s already accomplished something impressive: he’s the first person in his family to not hate golf. ⛳

We’re glad to have you on the team, Ken!💚

AI has become a meaningful line item, and very few organizations can account for it with much precision.

The total is visible. The breakdown by application, by team, by model usually isn't. That gap tends to surface for the first time in a budget review, which is the least useful place to discover it.

It's a more solvable problem than most teams expect. It doesn't take a dedicated data science function or a lengthy optimization effort, just a few decisions made deliberately rather than by default.

iuvo's president and CEO Bryon Beilman wrote up some recommendations to teams building on multi-model platforms.
