The room during this birth was calm and full of peace. I watched in awe as she delivered both of her babies pretty much without the help of anyone else. She held baby A as she pushed out baby B and that was *AMAZING*. I couldn’t help but relive my own twin birth and had so much joy and thankfulness to have played a little part in this one. Also, surprise gender births are my FAVORITE. 🥰

Breastfeeding didn’t come easy with my first baby, but was a piece of cake with my second. Then God smiled and sent me twins - and I learned the real reason why I have 2 breasts. 🙃🤪 I’m thankful for the 3 beautiful experiences I had in nourishing my babies and being able to show my girls how normal it is.

This first-time mom chose a homebirth and I think she got so much more out of it than she anticipated. She learned just how much strength she had in her and tapped into it. Patience and perseverance were the words that came to mind during her labor. She pushed her baby out in just 13 minutes after laboring for a LONG time. I am SO, SO freaking proud of her. 🥹
P.S. - I don’t cry at every birth, but this one got me. 😭

Birth isn’t always a piece of cake…even if it’s your 4th baby. This mom was so brave and pushed through (pun intended, lol) some doubt and fear when she was at the verrry end. I’m so proud of her and extra thankful she asked me to be at her side for a second time. 🥰

This birth reminded me of how there’s a chance to learn something at every birth.
This mom’s intuition served her SO well. She was in tune with her body and knew her baby was coming earlier than anyone else expected. The trust that she had to follow these instincts was truly amazing and inspiring. I’m SO proud of her and the work she put in to stand up for and believe in herself - and thankful I was asked to come along for the ride. ❤️

I want to clarify something to all new moms to be!

Baby can be head down but in OP or sunny side up position. This position makes labor last longer, makes you have back labor and makes mamas work so much harder during pushing.

(Usually-y’all know we don’t know EVERYTHING about birth, right?! 😉)

Preferable positions are when the back of baby’s head and spine are on the outside left or right side of mom’s belly AND head down.
Left occiput anterior or right occiput anterior if you want the medical terms. LOA, ROA.

While in labor, I highly encourage you to ask your care provider for this information! They’ll probably be surprised. 😜
