What happens when a teacher cares enough to take an idea and run with it?

♻️ Nearly 19,000 aluminum cans recycled!!!

👀 Students saw firsthand that recycling is bigger than the blue bin.

🩷 A local nonprofit benefited.

🌳 And a whole lot of seeds were planted along the way.

From a Recycled Materials Association panel in Las Vegas to conversations at Earth Day at the Headwaters at the Comal here at home…

Different setting. Same purpose.

At Earth Day, we were talking with a group of kids about recycling and explained that metal doesn’t really go to waste—it just keeps getting reused.

One of them asked, “Like forever?”

And honestly… that’s exactly it.

That’s why we do what we do—helping people see that what feels like “junk” still has value. ♻️

Teaching the next generation that metal doesn’t end—it continues. When recycled properly, materials like metal can be reused indefinitely, reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable, local economy.
