With Texas dove season opening on September 1st, hunters are dusting off their gear and getting their CAMOuflage ready!

Did you know that heavy grasshopper activity over the summer is usually the sign of a killer dove season? 🌾 Doves flock to open fields packed with grasshoppers and seeds for high-protein feeding.

🕵️‍♂️ CASE FILE: RESOLVED

Date: August 2026

Location: New Braunfels, Texas

Suspect Identification: Subterranean Termites (Subspecies: Timber-Snackers).

Investigation Notes: Subjects were caught actively destroying structural beams and exterior wall framing from the inside out.

Point of Entry: Infiltration was triggered by direct moisture-to-wood contact along the lower wall line, giving the suspects an undetected, humid backdoor into the property.

The Take-Down: Executed a specialized, classified eradication protocol. Threat completely neutralized, house secured, and the case is now officially closed.

Fun Fact Friday! 💡🦂

Your porch light might actually be working against you! Did you know a single bulb can kick off a full pest food chain on your patio?

A cool-white LED bulb 💡 draws in flying bugs 🪰🐝. As they fall, ants and roaches 🐜🪳 move in for the free meal. Spiders 🕷️ set up webs to catch the swarm, and scorpions 🦂 crawl up from the yard to hunt them all.

Just like that, one light bulb invited every nuisance pest in the entire neighborhood right to your front porch! 🏡

Quick Tip: Swap outdoor bulbs for warm yellow LEDs (or yellow "bug lights"). Bugs can't spot warm yellow wavelengths as easily, which stops that chain reaction cold!

You step outside, and there’s a wasp nest right above the back door 🫣. You walk back inside to escape, and there’s an ant trail heading straight for the kitchen sink 🤦‍♂️.

That’s pretty much been every phone call we’ve taken this week.

Case in point: every single one of those wasp nests you see in the picture was removed from just one house. You can see how huge they are compared to Chris’s hand 🖐️....and honestly, this picture doesn't even show all of them!

We came across this wolf spider carrying her babies—and honestly, it’s pretty amazing to see up close.
