Private equity firms don't fund experiments at scale. They underwrite on tight timelines with returns they have to defend, which means every one of those 504 centres passed a diligence process designed to find the downside.

The wider ecosystem backs it up: 32% growth since FY2021, 13% growth in new GCCs during 2025, $98.4B in revenue today, and a projected $130.5B by 2033.

Most companies still ask whether the India model will work for them. That question was settled a while ago. What's left is ex*****on — which city, which setup model, which first hire.

Stress-tested, PE-validated, scaled. The playbook already exists.

What stands out isn't the size — it's the spread. BFSI leads at 21%, with Retail and CPG at 14%, Healthcare at 12%, and Automotive at 11%. The other 42% covers every remaining major sector.

Banks, hospitals, carmakers and retailers don't follow the same playbook. They arrived at the same answer separately, which usually means the answer is right.

The question isn't whether the model works. 506 companies already proved it does.

What makes the number credible is everything around it. 58% of GCCs in India are already investing in AI, with another 29% planning to inside a year. Over 2 million IT professionals have been trained on AI. National employability has climbed to 56.35% from 46.2%. And more than 90% of employees are already using GenAI tools in their daily work.

India isn't positioning itself for AI. It's pouring the foundation.

The companies building AI teams there aren't early anymore — they're on time.

Companies no longer come to India for cheap. They come because the talent isn’t anywhere else.

That’s the shift most people haven’t caught up to yet. In 2015 the pitch was cost. In 2020 it was capability. In 2026, it’s simply where specialised tech talent lives.

The proof is in the build-out — 480+ mid-market GCCs are already operating in India, employing over 210,000 professionals, with another 120 launching by the end of the year.

Cost still saves 60–70% against equivalent US salaries. That advantage hasn’t disappeared. It just isn’t the reason companies are showing up any more.

The Fortune 500 GCC took decades. The Micro GCC takes 12–18 months. 🌏 Entry cost: $150K–$400K. 504 PE-backed GCCs. 38% of India’s total office demand — a record. The model changed. The window is open. Not for long. 📌

2015: US companies came to India for lower cost resources.
2026: they come because the talent is here.

The reasons swapped in 2021.

Cost is the bonus now, not the reason.

The window to build before it gets crowded is still open. Not for long.

Prime GCC real estate and talent availability in India follows the same curve as every other market that matured fast. The window isn't closing. It's already half-closed. The question is which side of it you're on.

The companies building ESG data infrastructure in India today will own the compliance advantage in 2027 and 2028 when reporting mandates tighten globally. This is a structural hiring signal, not a trend.
