We appreciate your patience during this time. While outages are never ideal, this was part of a system upgrade that will help us deliver improved service quality and greater reliability moving forward.

⚠️ OUTAGE UPDATE (2:20 PM): We have roughly 10 BOA customers still experiencing an outage at this time. The issue was caused by a newly installed system responsible for assigning internet connections to devices. While everything initially appeared to be working properly, problems developed over time that led to connection disruptions for a small number of BOA customers.

Our team has identified the cause and taken steps to correct it. We’re committed to making sure your service is reliable, and we’re continuing to monitor things closely.

Thank you again for your understanding—we know how important staying connected is. The remaining folks still experiencing broadband service interruptions should be back up and running within an hour.

⚠️We’re aware that some BOA customers are currently experiencing intermittent issues with Bee Online Advantage. Our team is actively working to identify the cause and restore full service as quickly as possible.

⚠️PLANNED OUTAGE UPDATE (Feb. 23 - 8:30 AM): Good morning BOA customers. Our planned outage that began last night (Feb. 22) has gone much quicker than expected. Most of our BOA customers should already be back up and running smoothly, with the exception of our customers in Fincastle, which may take longer as anticipated.

We will keep you updated here as we begin to restore broadband to all customers. Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your broadband network.

📢To all our valued BOA customers, we wanted to reach out with an important update. Due to necessary repairs, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐎𝐀 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝟐/𝟐𝟐) 𝐚𝐭 𝟏𝟏 𝐏𝐌 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 (𝟐/𝟐𝟑). A fallen tree damaged our main fiber line earlier this month, and we're working with Mid Atlantic to fix it permanently.

We’re celebrating Marian Croak, a technology pioneer whose innovations changed the way the world communicates.

Beginning her career at Bell Laboratories (now AT&T), Marian Croak holds more than 200 patents. One of her most impactful contributions was helping develop Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), the technology that enables voice and video calls over the internet.

Every virtual meeting and call is part of her lasting legacy.

The cause of the outage came from our internet service provider, who had a technical issue with their data center in Richmond. We've been notified that the issue has been resolved.

⚠️OUTAGE UPDATE (9:11 PM) - Due to an equipment issue, we have a specialized third-party technician scheduled to arrive on site tomorrow morning (Monday, Feb. 9) to address the problem at 9:30 am. Once repairs are completed and testing is finished, service will be restored.

We appreciate your patience and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

🤷‍♀️"Just a quarter to half an inch of ice? What's the big deal?"

Ice is super heavy, and when freezing rain hits, it sticks to everything—leaves, branches, and twigs. This weight adds up fast.

This weekend, some folks in our service area might see up to 0.5 an inch of ice. For a 30-foot-wide tree, that's over 7,000 pounds, or like having roughly 🐮four cows, 🐷six pigs, and a few 🐔chickens in a tree. That's certainly enough to bring branches down onto power lines in some cases.

PLEASE remember to always STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED POWER LINES—they're extremely dangerous. Touching one can cause serious injuries or even be fatal. Always assume a fallen line is live and report it right away. Your safety is key.💚
