Year End Tax Form Season is quickly approaching and we wanted to pass along some important information to you.
• The IRS has lowered the threshold for electronic filing for W2s for 2021. If you will be producing 100 or more W2s, you MUST electronically file your W2 forms with the SSA.
• Even more important to note is that in 2022, the threshold lowers to 10 or more TOTAL forms! The total includes 1099s, W2s, ACA and ‘any other’ informational reports that you are required to file.
• PA requires electronic filing if you have more than 10 W2s or 1099s.
• The form 1099-NEC for the tax year 2021 has changed slightly.
o According to Sage: 1099 NEC forms will print data only on the official Copy A form (Red 3/page forms) that have the pre-preprinted background for the year 2021.
o The State, Payer, and Recipient copies will print data and background on the 4/page (4-up) blank form.
o Please consult with your tax advisor on the proper filing requirements for your specific situation.
o To date, the 1099 MISC form layout has not changed for 2021.

Here Are The Minimum Versions To Perform Year-End Closing ( Tax Processing ) In Sage 100
Sage has updated guidelines on the minimum supported versions to perform year-end for 2021 in Sage 100.
These versions are required for anyone printing tax forms 1099 or W-2s. Sage 100 minimum supported versions for year-end:
Payroll
Payroll Tax Update (release 12/14/2021). Tax information is maintained in CLAD (Sage tax cloud) and system table changes will be pushed down via the Payroll Tax Update utility within the software.
Sage 100 Payroll 2.22.0 (release 12/2021)
Sage 100 Payroll 2.21.3.0 with PR6032-T Hotfix for the 941
Accounts Payable 1099's
Sage 100 2021.2 (7.00.2.0) no IRD needed
Sage 100 2020.4 (6.20.0.4) no IRD needed
Sage 100 2019.5 (6.10.5.0) plus IRD for 2021 Aatrix year-end update will be released mid-December (before 12/20/21).
