Itâs funny how something as simple as the smell of coffee can bring you right back to a moment in time. đ¤
The other day, as I was making mine, I suddenly thought about a mom I supported four years ago. She had a newborn and two other little ones, was running a very busy household on very little sleep, and one of the first things I did each morning when I arrived was make her coffee.
Such a small thing, but all these years later, that memory came rushing back.
I reached out to her later that day to tell her I had been thinking about her, and we ended up having the sweetest exchangeâcatching up, sharing pictures of our kids, who had all grown so much, and hoping to plan a visit when Iâm in her area soon.
One of the things I love most about being a postpartum doula is that although I may only be invited into a familyâs life for a short season, those families often stay in my heart for years.
Sometimes postpartum support looks like helping with the baby, answering questions, or giving a tired mom a chance to rest.
And sometimesâŚit looks like making her a cup of coffee. âď¸đ¤
If youâre expecting a baby in May 2027 or beyond and would love thoughtful, nurturing support during those early weeks, Iâm now booking future families. Feel free to reach outâIâd love to connect.
