Some recognitions arrive long after the quiet work has already been happening.
The Quiet Work of Alignment - Part 1 of 3
Recognition is a beautiful thing.
But sometimes it arrives after a season when you quietly wondered if anyone even saw you.
On March 10 in New York City, I stood on a stage holding a certificate and a bouquet of flowers as an International Women’s Day Honoree, recognized by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York, Inc. , representing Malaysia (and thak you to Consulate General of Malaysia, New York for the nomination too🇲🇾🙌🏼🤗).
It was a beautiful moment.
But what surprised me most was what I felt.
It wasn’t pride.
It was deep humility.
Because moments like this are rarely about a single night.
They are about years of showing up for people and communities long before anyone is watching.
Over the past two years especially, I’ve spent time showing up in Malaysian diaspora gatherings across New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and throughout New England - Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Sometimes simply attending.
Sometimes organizing.
Sometimes leading.
But always doing something that has always felt incredibly natural to me:
✨ Bringing people together
✨ Creating YE$ Connections
✨ Building community
Connection has always been the heartbeat of my life’s work.
Long before I stepped into the work I now call Identity Realignment Activations, I found myself naturally curating spaces where people could meet, connect, and discover something meaningful through each other.
From producing international virtual summits that brought together voices from around the world…
to hosting gatherings…
to simply introducing two people who needed to meet.
And over time, I kept witnessing something powerful again and again:
When people reconnect with their true essence, everything begins to shift.
Clarity returns.
Energy returns.
Possibilities expand.
This realization eventually became the foundation of the work I now facilitate - helping individuals and leaders reconnect with their true essence so they can show up in the world with greater clarity, energy, and human connection.
Thank you to the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York and the Consulate General of Malaysia for this meaningful recognition.
And to the many communities I’ve been blessed to be part of - especially the Malaysian diaspora and the beautiful people I’ve met along the way - who remind me every day that human connection is one of the most powerful forces we have.
But there is a deeper story behind this moment.
Because recognition often arrives after a quiet season of realignment.
And that journey… wasn’t always easy.
I’ll share more in my next post.
For now, I’m curious:
Have you ever experienced recognition arriving after a long season of quiet work?
I’d truly love to hear your story.
