It was so rewarding to be a part of this project! Thank you so much, Distinction!
Sam (the owner of Distinction) came to us with her vision and hand drawings of what she wanted for her artwork!
It’s absolutely beautiful!
I used to say I'd never go out on my own, because it was a responsibility I didn't want to take on Well, after a series of events, and a plethora of support, I took the leap, and started Distinction LLC about 2 years ago.
Yesterday my window vinyl went up. The big final piece to put it all together. As it was going up, I felt the tears starting. I mean, how could a big sticker make me cry? It's not just a big sticker, it is the symbol the years of hard work, and the support of many people. But most of all it's the symbol of my growth as a person and stylist. The reminder of all that I experienced, good and bad, the lessons I learned, the moments I thought I wouldn't succeed, and the blood, sweat, and tears. The moments I made someone smile just because of a haircut, or a simple head massage during a shampoo, and the color service that gave someone confidence. I went into this industry because I love coloring hair. As the years went on I realized my purpose was to help people feel better about themselves, something I also struggled with. This journey has shown me that, even though I can't change the whole world, I can change how one person feels, and that has a butterfly effect.
When the last little bit of paper was peeled, the last bubble was pressed out, I smiled. I did it! I made a dream into reality. I am successful, I am worthy, and I earned this moment.
I cannot express the love and gratitude I have for everyone who has sat in my chair. Thank you for trusting me.
I cannot say thank you enough to the person, and people who established Studio Twenty Three. She and her family have been the support I needed to take this leap. Support I never had until they became a part of my family.
But most of all, I want to thank my sons. They have been the driving force. The reason why I push myself, to show them dreams can come true. Even though Mom wasn't home much, and I missed a lot, they have always been by my side. Mom loves you now and forever.
Now a new journey has started. My journey into happiness, and accomplishment. Time to enjoy the ride!
