Sydney Schexnayder recently earned his M.S. in Engineering and Technology Management while continuing to put that knowledge to work right here at Southern Constructors as a Construction Technology Specialist!

We’re proud of Sydney’s accomplishment and even prouder to have people on our team who are always looking for ways to learn, grow and get better at what they do.

Congratulations, Sydney — well deserved!

Sydney Schexnayder spent years learning by doing.

From serving as a mechanic in the Marine Corps to building his career, experience had always been one of his best teachers.

Which is why UL Lafayette’s online M.S. in Engineering and Technology Management was a perfect fit, allowing him to understand advanced concepts and immediately apply them in the field.

“It was almost hard to remember what was an assignment and what was work, because it was so real.”

Through the online program, Sydney gained confidence in the work he's already doing and more freedom to decide what comes next.

to our work on the LA DOTD Mermentau River Boat Launch in Acadia Parish. 🐊

Located beneath the U.S. 90 overpass along the Mermentau River, this project included the replacement of the existing boat launch, site grading, pile work, removal of existing timber wharves and piles, and other improvements along the waterfront.

Projects like this are right in our wheelhouse — working along Louisiana’s waterways and building infrastructure that serves the surrounding community!

Southern Constructors has completed the AVEX Hangar Site Surcharge in New Iberia, LA, delivering full site development and importing and installing approximately 90,000 CY of sand to prepare the site for what’s next. 🛫
