A little cleaning industry reality check...
The photos below are from a home we had not cleaned in approximately six months. As fellow cleaners know, there comes a point where a home isn't dealing with "normal dust" anymore—it's dealing with months of accumulated buildup, neglect, and deferred maintenance.
While we're usually terrible at remembering before-and-after photos, we made sure to capture a few of these because the amount of dust and grime was honestly impressive.
One of the biggest misconceptions in our industry is that a cleaner can walk into a home that hasn't been maintained for months and somehow make it look like it has received consistent professional care all along. That's simply not realistic. Professional cleaning can do a lot, but it cannot erase months of buildup in a few hours.
At KM's Cleaning, we take pride in our work, and we stand behind the quality of every cleaning we provide. We are also honest about expectations. If a home has gone months without maintenance, the results will reflect the condition we started with and the time allotted for the job.
This particular client decided to move in a different direction, and that's okay. Not every client-business relationship is the right fit. We believe in providing quality service, fair expectations, mutual respect, and timely payment. When those things aren't aligned, it's usually best for everyone to part ways professionally.
The good news? We now have room in our schedule for clients who value consistent maintenance, realistic expectations, and the hard work that goes into transforming homes every day.
