Talk and Play, LLC Talk and Play offers speech language therapy services to help children communicate and connect.

Talk and Play provides speech language therapy for children to become effective communicators by increasing receptive and expressive language skills and speech intelligibility. Individual/group services provided by an ASHA certified/licensed SLP in your home, preschool, daycare and community for the summer.

‘Talking’ may seem like the most natural development among little ones, surely we don’t have to teach this skill?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However babies begin to hear speech from their parents and others around them from birth. Children develop language from their environment and those who communicate with them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Statistics show that 20% of four year old children have difficulty understanding or using language in Australia (SPA, 2016). Although children develop speech and language at different rates, it’s important seek help if your concerned. Speech pathologists will be able to determine if a child needs therapy for a speech or language delay.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However there are many ways parents can help children develop efficient speech and language. An obvious one is talking with children as much as possible. Practicing communication and having regular conversations will help children develop these skills themselves.
