Happy Friday from the team over here at Gore's Services! We hope with this cool weather moving in through the weekend will allow everyone to get out and enjoy the next few weeks without the constant heat and humidity bogging you down!

We will be attending the Veterans Day Parade and the Gore's Services team will not only be involved in said parade, but we will also be hosting a booth, so feel free to pop in with any questions or concerns! The guys and I will be there, and we’d love to see y’all. We’ll be in the parade and have a booth set upduring the event, so come say hey and take advantage of our special offer.

Many homeowners see this line running inside their home from their A/C unit and think nothing more of it. However this piece of piping is one of the most essential parts to an HVAC System. The suction line as shown in the image with the black insulation circulates refrigerant from the outside portion of the unit into the inside, allowing for your air to cool to the desired temperature. Part of ensuring this refrigerant works properly is verifying there is proper insulation installed throughout the entirety of the line-set (excluding unit connections) This is done to ensure that excess condensation created by the suction line will not leak into the attic/walls of your home, while also making sure the outside portion of the line is protected from exterior wear and tear. Failure to properly insulate a suction line can lead to possible refrigerant leaks, or even worse water damage inside your home. Happy Hump Day from the team at Gore's Services!

This Wednesday we wanted to stress the importance of having a surge protector on your home.
There are many reasons to have a surge protector, the main reason being that it provides protection for dangerous circumstances such as your homes main panel or electrical grid being struck directly by lightning. Having a surge protector for your home will catch said surge and redirect it, preventing situations such as blown circuits or fried electronics from occurring. Another reason to have a surge protector on your home is as of 2020 the NEC (National Electric Code) made it mandatory to have one installed on your home. This does not however mean you need to install one right away! It does mean however that in the event you wish to sell your home or make a significant repair/addition, a surge protector will need to be added to have the home brought up to code.

A common question asked by many homeowners is "When is my generator due for its annual service?" This is an important question for reasons you might not think.

Typically a generator only needs service once every calendar year, however the timing of this service is very important as it can play a factor in determining and diagnosing any potential issues. The best time to service your generator are the months between March-May as this is the beginning of spring showers and the ensuing summer storm season. This time period is typically when a generator is running and operating the most, so by performing its annual service beforehand you are able to determine wether or not the generator is in optimal operating capacity for the coming season, as well as being able to assess any wear and tear from the previous years season. While it is ultimately the customers decision we at Gore's Services highly recommend generator service be performed in the spring, that way we are able to ensure a healthy running generator for the storm season!
