We’re excited to welcome Byron Whitten to the MPower community through our continued partnership with Algiers Charter Schools Association.

Byron is one of the most dynamic educators in his building. We’ve had the opportunity to see him teach and lead firsthand, and what stands out immediately is his ability to engage, inspire, and connect with those around him. There is a level of enthusiasm, belief, and positive energy that follows him into every space he enters.

What excites us most is Byron’s deep commitment to growth. He is constantly seeking ways to sharpen his craft, elevate his leadership, and create even greater outcomes for the students and community he serves.

That combination of talent, humility, and a relentless desire to get better is exactly what makes him such a strong addition to this community.

Less than 2% of educators in the US are black men. It is critical that we recruit, DEVELOP, and retain black male educators.

With this critical mission in mind, I.D.E.A. Education Consulting is proud to announce MPower! A community for black male leaders in education.

We launched this fall with a pilot cohort of 14 men from across the country ranging from Executive Directors, Network Leaders, Consultants and School Leaders. The experience includes executive coaching, ongoing professional development and masterclasses, regional events (like this one in NOLA) and a HIGHLY anticipated cohort retreat!

We’re eager to share more about our pilot year and to tell you more about how you can get involved with Cohort 2! Follow and share with black male educators.

When bringing a new group of leaders together, I always take the time to ground ourselves in our stories. Stories have the ability to connect, transform, inspire, and bound a group for life. ✨This has always been our most requested session for senior executives.✨ When’s the last time you’ve shared a meaningful story with your team? 📝
