Friday turned into one of those real-world reminder days.

Midday Friday, a failed coil pack caused an engine cylinder misfire. Luckily, I can DIY most issues with the truck and the truck was back to full power in no time. Later that night, our house HVAC went out — not because of the unit itself, but due to a very old fuse holder that finally failed, overheated, and started melting along with aluminum wiring. The kind of hidden issue you don’t see coming until it suddenly stops everything. Thankfully, the problem was made safe, a new non fusible disconnect box was installed, and the heat was back on before the next cold night. The toliet handle also broke, but this was a quick easy fix compared to the other failures.
