Black SGL Men Emerging Leader (MEL) Retreat - a one-day leadership and empowerment experience is designed for Black SGL men ages 18–24 who are ready to invest in their future. Selected participants will engage in meaningful discussions focused on personal development, professional growth, leadership, health and wellness, and purpose-driven living.

Attendees will have a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with accomplished Black professionals, including business leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, therapists, judges, and other community leaders committed to helping the next generation thrive. This retreat is more than an event; it is an investment in emerging leaders and a pathway to continued mentorship, resources, and support.

This past weekend, leaders from The BACH Group Community Health Institute and BACH Therapeutic Counseling Services continued their commitment to education, advocacy, and empowerment across New Orleans.

On Friday, Dr. Earl Nupsius Benjamin-Robinson served as moderator for a powerful panel discussion at the Black Q***r Legacy (BQL) Summit - Dr. Alaiyia N. Williams, BACH colleague, was one of the panelists. The conversation centered the lived experiences of Black transgender women and explored the critical intersections of criminal justice, public policy, mental health, and wellness. Through thoughtful dialogue, participants highlighted both the challenges and opportunities for creating systems that affirm, protect, and support Black trans women.

On Saturday, Dr. Michael L. Benjamin-Robinson brought his expertise as a licensed therapist to the FLOW Black Mental Health Summit, where he participated in a panel discussion focused on strengthening and empowering Black mental health professionals. His insights emphasized the importance of culturally responsive care, clinician wellness, and building sustainable pathways for healing within Black communities.

We are proud to see our leaders using their voices, expertise, and lived commitment to advance health equity, mental wellness, and social justice. Together, we continue to create spaces that inform, inspire, and empower.

Yesterday, members of The BACH Group were honored to help moderate, educate, inspire, and empower community members at New Orleans Black Pride’s in New Orleans.

A special thank you to Drs. Earl Nupsius Benjamin-Robinson, Alaiyia N. Williams, and Del’Rio Cole for sharing their expertise, lived experiences, and commitment to advancing health, wellness, equity, and empowerment within Black LGBTQ+ communities. Through thoughtful dialogue and community-centered discussions, they helped create a space where participants could learn, connect, and envision a stronger future together.

📢 The BACH Group and BACH Therapeutic Counseling Services (BACHTCS) are excited to welcome David Armstead as our newest intern!

David is a senior Psychology major at Southern University at New Orleans and the Founder & CEO of Central City Consultant (CCC). His experience includes public health, community engagement, LGBTQ+ advocacy, research, and program evaluation, with a strong focus on health equity and underserved populations.

As an aspiring behavioral health professional, David will support behavioral health, research, and evaluation initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in counseling and community-based practice.

One year ago yesterday, BACH’s Dr. Earl N. Benjamin-Robinson presented at the 2025 Louisiana Cancer Research Center Annual Research Conference. His presentation highlighted community engagement strategies that support cancer prevention efforts while increasing access to and participation in cancer screenings.

The BACH Group CROPs would like to extend sincere gratitude to ViiV Healthcare and our incredible panelists: Dr. Del'Rio Cole, Dr. T.J. Weber, Dr. Charles Waller, Mr. DeKeitra Griffin, and Mr. Marquis O'sirio, for their powerful contributions to BACH’s CROPs Sexual and Gender Minority Workshop Series Part-3: Same-Gender-Loving Black Men: Wholeness & Resiliency.

This conversation created a meaningful and affirming space for community members, clinicians, public health professionals, and advocates to engage in honest dialogue surrounding wellness, identity, trauma, resilience, and empowerment within Black SGL communities. The panelists shared lived experiences, clinical expertise, and practical insights that challenged stigma, promoted healing-centered engagement, and encouraged culturally responsive care.

Attendees walked away with deeper understanding of the importance of affirming mental health practices, community connectedness, holistic wellness, and the role clinicians and community leaders play in advancing equity and support for Black SGL men.
