Kim has been part of Pepper for a year now, supporting our day-to-day financial tasks: from invoicing and payment tracking to keeping our records organized and up to date. Her work helps keep things moving behind the scenes.

What we appreciate most about Kim, though, goes beyond the work itself. She shows up with kindness, a gentle presence, and a genuine care for others.

Outside of Pepper, Kim uses her income to support outreach efforts for children in her community -- something that reflects her heart and values in a very real way.

Our Founder Cecille’s earliest training didn’t happen in a classroom or a corporate boardroom—it began at home, under the tutelage of her mother, a lifelong educator and the original Curator-in-Chief. Her Mama expected excellence (and sparkle!) in everything: from the way the sheets were tucked, to how the clothes were folded and pressed, to making sure her daughter was always at the top of her class.

She was Cecille’s first coach—on and off stage. Journalism adviser, Quiz Bowl cheerleader, Spelling Bee partner, and yes, the ultimate stage mom during pageants.

This photo was taken at Cecille’s high school graduation, where she stood as Valedictorian. It was a shared victory. Every gold medal, every first-place finish, every lesson in poise and polish was shaped by her mother’s steady guidance.

To the woman who set the standard and passed it down: you are the heart behind Pepper. Wishing you many more years of health, laughter, and well-deserved rest.
