Yesterday was Manufacturing Advocacy Day in New York! Viking president Rich Croce was in attendance to help advocate for our industry and make our voice heard. Along with other Council of Industry members, Rich met with key legislators and heard speeches from Assistant Majority Leader and Assembly Member Pamela Hunter (D-128) as well as NYSERA Chief Policy Officer John Williams. We're proud to join others in our industry to advocate for the future of manufacturing jobs and infrastructure.

We recently had the honor of hosting Hudson Valley Pathways Academy, Ellenville PTECH, and Ulster BOCES advanced manufacturing students for our annual Work Place Challenge! Students rose to the challenge of designing either a gravity-fed dispenser box or a gift box for our real-life customers, BjornQorn. These spectacular designs were based entirely on their own research and design, and we're definitely impressed! These minds will power the future of our community.

Last month, we had the pleasure of attending and exhibiting at the Council of Industry’s Business Expo, showcasing the best manufacturers in the Hudson Valley. We had a wonderful time catching up with our peers, and most importantly, celebrating the three Vikings who were recognized for their completion of the Manufacturing Leadership Training Program. Join us in celebrating Michael Benitez, Christina Stoddard, and Charlie Ochoa for their hard work and accomplishments!

The future is here for the former IBM campus, and we're proud to have played a part! Earlier this month, the ribbon was cut for the new Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Center. In this new era, the campus will host over 200 programs for 700 high school students from all over Ulster County. Our President, Rich Croce, was honored to be an invited industry partner for his commitment to the school, programs, and kids who will pass through the halls.
