This is an interesting one I worked on. It appeared to be an out the side folder framelock with a false edge. When I opened it, it surprised me by being a true dagger grind. It is a custom and designed specifically to be safe as the blade is completely inside the handle when closed. The blade is hollow ground on both sides. I could feel the edges getting extremely sharp while working on it. When I was done and tested the edges, it scared me at how sharp I was able to make them. I warned the customer to be careful in letting other people handle it.

This large fixed blade was definitely designed to be a chopper. It is quite thick at the spine. In discussion with the customer, it was decided that a convex edge would be better for this blade. That is a simple change to convert my K03 from a straight guide rod making v bevels to a guide rod that moves in an arc making convex edges. It definitely went back razor sharp.

This new addition to my setup should help me see edges better. You can't sharpen what you can't see. This now gives me overhead LEDs, a dual head LED lamp over my work area and a focused LED light right on the blade being sharpened. I have it set where it doesn't interfere with the operation yet directs light right on the the edge.

This was a first for me in sharpening this steel. I had a fixed blade come in for sharpening with some chips in the edge in Rex121 steel. I knew this was going to be a challenge because of the hardness of around 70-71 Rockwell. It is one of hardest tool steels available. I was not worried as I run CBN plates. Even with these plates, it still took a while. I will say this, you will struggle with sharpening this steel without a powered option if you do not have diamond or CBN stones. Yes, this edge glides through free hanging paper now.

This fixed blade was sent to me for repair. I brought the spine down to form a new tip using my 1x30 belt system. With some major chips in the edge I very slightly brought the edge up as well. After I roughed in new bevels, I used my TSprof K03 for a precision edge.

Little details matter in precision sharpening. This tanto was very slightly off on the tanto point lining up with the grind line. I fixed that issue while making it incredibly sharp.

I was tasked with fixing this chisel ground Emerson Elvia that was heavily used and had a broken tip. Curved blades like this are not a problem for me with the 1/2x6" stones I specifically have for curved blades. It is now crazy sharp.

Those who have received a package from me know and understand why I buy these items in bigger packs.πŸ˜‰

To those who haven't received a package from me, a bandaid is included in each package as a warning. The tape is used to completely tape the outsides of the boxes and secure the contents inside as well. These are a big part of customer service to me.

This knife had been dropped on concrete. The edge had some damage. I was tasked with fixing the edge and maintaining the factory appearance. In testing the edge, the top cut on the receipt paper was a slow steady cut from heel to tip to make sure I got the damage removed. Needless to say, it was sent back with a bandaid.

This big beast of a blade was a fun challenge. It is double edged and I mirror polished both edges. I tested both edges on this paper and both cut with no resistance.

This Benchmade Bailout had been used hard and not sharpened properly. The tanto point had been completely flattened and the tip.was completely rounded over. I restored the tanto point and put a crispy tip on it. It went from not even able to cut hot butter to slicing free hanging ad paper with ease.
