TRANSCRIPT ORDERING
We receive many transcript orders a day. On occasion we receive calls for transcripts from attorneys that were not counsel of record at the time of taking...or at all. When ordering, if you've recently become counsel of record, please provide to us your Notice of Appearance or your Substitution of Counsel.
Should you have a related case, or a case that requires you to receive a transcript from a case that you were not counsel on, we require written permission from all attorneys or parties (if pro se) prior to providing the transcript(s). If any attorney refuses the give permission for the transcript(s), we will require an Order from a Judge to provide.
Wondering why we have these requirements? Well, it's not us, it's the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure that dictates who exactly we are allowed to sell transcripts to. Rule 1.310(g) states that we are permitted to sell transcripts to the party or the witness, no one else. If the party is represented, then we may sell to their counsel; however, if the calling party is none of the above, we must have permission from all parties.
We appreciate you taking the time to read our post. If you would like to hear about a specific topic, please let us know! We'd be happy to post about that...
Have a great night!
