🔬 From Lab Innovation to Scientific Evidence

We’re pleased to announce a new scientific collaboration between MusB Research and Vidya Herbs that has resulted in a peer-reviewed publication investigating the GLP-1–promoting potential of a proprietary Akkermansia muciniphila strain.

The study evaluated live and pasteurized preparations using human enteroendocrine L-cells and found that both forms stimulated GLP-1 secretion under the experimental conditions studied.

Importantly, the work highlights a broader principle for next-generation microbiome ingredients:
It’s not enough to know what microorganism is present. We need to understand what biological function the specific ingredient can deliver.
This collaboration represents an evidence pathway from:
Ingredient → Mechanistic Research → Biological Evidence → Publication → Further Translational Research

The study was conducted in vitro using human L-cells. These findings do not demonstrate increased GLP-1 or metabolic benefits in humans and warrant further translational and clinical investigation.
