A Chicago-based ma*****na business has been approved for tax benefits to build a large production facility on the grounds of a former state prison that has become a hub for ma*****na-related businesses.

The Orange County Industrial Development Agency last week approved a 15-year tax abatement and other benefits requested by Green Thumb Industries, which hopes to start construction by May 1 on a 450,000-square-foot building it says will be built in three phases.

• This project will create 125 full-time high-paying jobs

Case in point: Marleen Vogelaar, founder of Newburgh fashion startup Ziel, recently launched a brand-new line of double-filter masks through Hudson Valley Mask Co.
