What challenges are female founders in tech up against? Amazon's hiring algorithm penalized resumes that contained the word "women" in any context. Healthcare risk scoring algorithms used by major US hospitals were found to systematically underestimate the medical needs of female and Black patients. Apple Card's credit algorithm gave wives credit lines 10x lower than their husbands for the same financial profile. Try launching a business with these odds. Oh and don't forget women founders have been receiving 2% of VC funding for the last 30 YEARS!!

According to a study surveying more than 200 women working for major tech firms, 87 percent claim male colleagues made or regularly make demeaning comments about them, with 60 percent having received unwanted sexual advances. One in three women in the survey reported feeling unsafe at work or a work event.

Research has shown that employees who have an optimistic outlook on life are more likely to be engaged in their jobs and perform better at work. Employees who feel optimistic about their future job prospects at the place they work will also be more likely to stay with their current employer than employees who feel they lack opportunities or are trapped.

In today's world, it's important for investors and board members to understand the importance of listening. It's the first step in building a strong relationship with a company, and it helps them understand what's happening inside the entity.

💡 In addition to being an respectful practice, listening helps generate trust between you and your allies. If you're not actively listening to what they have to say, they'll eventually stop sharing with you as well.
