Yvonne Liao is a designer, entrepreneur and the founder of Yvonne Liao, a luxury footwear company based in New York City. Prior to starting her own footwear line, Yvonne spent a decade working in fashion product development, sales and marketing with some of the biggest brands in the industry. Along the way, she helped a number of designers, fashion bloggers and celebrities launch fashion brands on

major home shopping networks, such as project runway designer Nick Verreos and fashion blogger Jessica Sturdy. After spending her life designing and drawing shoes, however, she was frustrated with products that lack personality, creativity and color and began prototyping a collection of flats, sandals, mules, high heels and sneakers. She made her first pair of stilettos in the summer 2019 and launched her first capsule collection in the spring of 2021. Since the launch, her designs have been featured in Vogue Italy (2021) and on a number of prominent social media accounts. A native of Singapore, Yvonne has a Bachelor’s degree from National University of Singapore and an MA in Luxury & Fashion Management from Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). She lives in New York City with her husband, 77lb lab mutt Momo, and an enormous closet of shoes.

So grateful and honored to be part of NYC Celebrate Women event where I get to showcase and shoes and connect with other women who are building their businesses. Shoutout to Fenny, my Coaching for Impact mentor who invited me to this event!

New York turned me into a loafer girl. 👟

I’m not a loafer girl — until I made my own. Inspired by the women of New York and my love for NYC food, I designed and handmade this pair from scratch. 20–30 hours of shoemaking, condensed into 90 seconds of BTS.

✦ Hand-applied pizza & donut patches
✦ Built for all-day comfort with cushioned insoles
✦ Dress up or down — true NYC energy

A new redesigned version is dropping soon.

Pre-orders coming — stay tuned.

Maybe it’s not a bad idea to learn from Gen Z after all…

Millennials market the features.
Gen Z markets the feeling.

And honestly?
Both matter.

Because people don’t just buy shoes.
They buy how the shoes make them feel.

Another pinch-me moment…

Being featured in The Straits Times — the paper I grew up reading — feels surreal. To be recognized in my home country as a shoe designer after 15 years away… this is a full circle moment.

I left Singapore to chase a dream I couldn’t ignore. Along the way came sacrifices — missed birthdays, time with loved ones, and the greatest loss of all, not being there when my dad passed in 2020. I wish he could read this. Though knowing him, he’d probably ask, “Did you sell more shoes?”

This milestone is filled with so much love and gratitude for my family and friends who stood by me from afar — this is yours too.
And while this feels like reaching a peak, I know it’s only the beginning. A new chapter to keep growing, creating, and walking this journey in a beautiful pair of comfortable shoes — while supporting other women to chase their dreams too.

It means more than I can put into words

Do you actually know your real shoe size… or are you just guessing?

If your shoes always feel tight, rub the wrong way, or leave your feet aching by the end of the day… your size might not be the problem—your fit is.

I used to deal with constant foot pain and had no idea why… until I finally measured my feet and realized I may actually have wide feet. No wonder nothing ever felt right.

Measuring your feet properly can completely change how your shoes fit (and feel).

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my shoe size guide + easy tips to measure your feet at home.
