About 50% of my hypnosis clients begin work with me feeling *super* resistant to feeling their emotions, but—

They could talk about their trauma and the way their parents would yell and their toxic partners as easily as we would talk about the weather

Because they’d talked through their trauma before. A hundred times.

With their therapist, their bffls, strangers at a party. It was east stuff to talk about, but—

Not easy stuff to actually *feel* about

Intellectualizing and increasing our self awareness feels safe—

it’s like we figure out the puzzle of our pain and get a shot of dopamine for seeing the full picture 🧩

But it rarely leads to the healing we want. Whether to—

• stop running from healthy relationships because Oh My God I’ve Never Actually Been Treated Well and This Is Harder Than That Toxic Guy

• stop doom scrolling at night after a day of stress and anxiety, knowing it won’t make you feel better but spending 2 hours doing it anyways

• procrastinating on the things that make you happy (playing guitar, painting, reading) bc some part of you feels guilty for doing it—like you don’t own your time & have to spend it proving yourself

You can become *aware* of all these things, but they don’t change until you start to tap into the emotions and memories, both stored in the body, behind them

Hypnosis is a powerful way to shift out of intellectualizing into genuine feeling and processing because

It gives you the opportunity to safely tap into the emotions, memories, and beliefs stored in your body—and release them overtime

I’m taking on my last few clients in (Re)Wired for Love before I close out the program at the end of the month ❤️

If this is the work you know you’re ready for—to go from intellectualizing, to feeling, to lasting self-healing—

💌 Send me a DM saying “ready” and we’ll chat about whether hypnosis aligns with your goals ❤️

It’s time to move into the next phase of your healing. I’d love to support you as you do so. Send me a DM if you’re ready!

here’s how your body becomes “addicted” to emotions in 3 simple steps ⤵️

(ps — I’m covering all this & more in Get Unstuck, a 2-hour workshop at the end of may. More info at the 1st link in bio if you’re curious!)

1️⃣ Emotions are signaled through our bodies by peptides, which are the chemical messengers of emotions.

They're lil proteins that flow throughout our body and tell our cells “Hey! Gal pal is feeling sad today.” or “She is literally THRIVING we are so happy omg” — whatever the emotion is!

2️⃣ If we regularly feel a certain combination of emotions, our cells will come to expect the peptides which correlate to those emotions.

In essence, our cells become addicted to getting a certain amount of specific peptides—the emotions—on a regular basis.

It's like if you eat a mini Reese's cup every night after dinner (like me), you habitually expect that peanut butter choc daily. Same deal, just with your emotions.

3️⃣ If our cells register a decreased level of these peptides, they will signal to our brains, "HEY! We're low on the (that emotional combo you always feel)! Send us something!" (ie I want my evening Reese's cup bro)

The cells' craving for peptides in #3 is why we get caught up in the same self-sabotaging patterns, whether that’s dating the same “type,” ending up in the same chaotic job environments, & so much more.

In my May 31st LIVE workshop, Get Unstuck, we're diving into the full story on emotional addiction, AND how you can stop self-sabotaging cycles to build a life you really freakin' love.

You'll leave the 2-hour Get Unstuck with:

💡 An ability to recognize emotional addiction and stop it in its tracks

💡 2 powerful and tangible tools to BREAK OUT of emotional addiction: future visualization and hypnotic affirmations

💡 A LIVE experience in hypnosis to connect with your future self and use EA-busting tools

💖 More compassion for when you get caught in self-sabotage, clarity on how to “get unstuck,” and ENERGY to start working towards an aligned life that lights you up

Get Unstuck is just $69 for ONE MORE DAY— the price jumps to $99 on Thursday!

here’s why you need to stop saying “I have a type” ⤵️

Last year I went on a date with a carbon copy of my ex.

He liked running, was into spirituality, jam band music, and was a capricorn (if you follow me on TT you know my… distaste… for capricorn males).

And because of how much I know about emotional addiction and cyclical patterns, I had to laugh to myself as he rattled off his list of interests that mirrored that of my last partner.

Our brains are addicted to familiarity. Feeling “safe” by staying in the same familiar, predictable patterns.

When you find yourself dating the same “type”—y’know, the person who’s maybe too dismissive, full of themselves, tatted, hell, a certain astro sign—your brain is absolutely loving it, because it feels like it can “predict” what comes next (even if you’re unfulfilled as hell in those partnerships).

This whole notion of false safety + predictability is great for our brain, but not so much for our happiness.

There’s nothing wrong with having a type, but if your “type” isn’t working for you, then you’re just letting your dating life be another place where emotional addiction reigns supreme and you’re pushing off your own authenticity.

To draw this into some tangibles, reflect on the questions below:

• What is my “type” in dating? How do they make me feel?

• When I imagine my dream “person,” what are they like? How do they make me feel?

Needless to say, the date with the cap was just one date. I knew I wanted something different in my next partner.

We have to commit to what we want in life, not what feels safe, in order to fully flourish and thrive as our happiest, most authentic selves. Start by reflecting today, bb.

PS — if you’re like WTF is emotional addiction, you can read about the basics at the first link in my bio. It’s basically this long process where our body and brain get physiologically addicted to feeling the same emotions over and over again.

I’m hosting a 2-hour workshop that goes DEEEP on emotional addiction at the end of May—head to the 1st link in bio to learn the basics of EA and more about the wkshp if youre curious! 🔗🤌

Are you tired of feeling stuck in crusty, self-sabotaging patterns?

White dude self-help books luv to tell you to pick yourself up by your bootstraps & ✨Just Do It✨ , but they’re missing one key fact:

🔑 Your brain will avoid new experiences if it cannot predict what those new experiences will feel like.

Your brain is obsessed with staying in predictable, familiar situations (that are often reminiscent of childhood environments and relationships).

Your brain is like me in middle school with Edward Cullen. Would do literally anything for him.

This is why when we try to move into healthy relationships and start new habits, the brain often responds with a whole charcuterie board of self-sabotaging methods:

procrastination, rumination, sudden disinterest in goals, et al.

When you understand that the brain and body work together to keep you in the same patterns which provide a sense of “safety” through predictability, life gets… lighter 😌

Because all the self-sabotage begins to make sense—it's not just you and a lack of willpower, it's your brain and body doing EVERYTHING they can to keep you “safe" in old patterns.

When I learned about this concept (it's called “emotional addiction” b-t-dubbs) it seriously changed my life. I do not say that lightly.

That's why on May 31st I'm hosting a 2-hour workshop going DEEEP on the neuroscience behind self-sabotage, and how YOU can break out of it to start stepping into a life you really, truly love 💖

It's called Get Unstuck: Understanding & Overcoming Emotional Addiction and in it, I'm covering:

💡 How emotional addiction keeps you STUCK in the same limiting patterns in relationships, work, and your inner world

💡 How to work with your conscious and your SUBCONSCIOUS MIND to change emotional addiction patterns

💡 TANGIBLE tools to break out of EA: future visualization AND hypnotic affirmations

💡 A LIVE group hypnosis experience

The extra exciting news? You'll get all of this & more for just $69.

This is the early bird price, and it ends in 6 days (May 18th!). After that, the price increases to $99.

I thought I was enlightened, but then I realized I was full of s**t (a story).

Last week, I felt old ED thoughts creeping in about how my body *should* look with bikini szn starting.

But then I had really beautiful revelations (to be shared another day) about conditional love and how that plays into body image.

I felt on top of the freaking WORLDDD. Like I had conquered my body image issues with these new revelations.

Have you ever had that? Like you figured something out and you’re just SO certain it’ll save you whenever the issue comes up ever again?

But then I went to the beach. And I wore a bikini. And I saw a picture of myself wearing a bikini.

And all those old thoughts came rushin riteeeee back.

I’m not going to get into that part bc I think we all know what that hateful body shaming voice sounds like.

I tried to think of my pretty little revelations from earlier in the week. And they helped a little, but not a lot.

I eventually moved out of those not-so-great feelings and had a ball of a weekend, but I share this story to remind ya:

🫶 Healing isn’t linear.

Are you tired of hearing this yet? I’m not, because it’s so true.

Healing an issue doesn’t mean you’ll never experience it again, it just means you’ll be more and more equipped to manage it when it does.

🫶 Feeling “certain” about something isn’t eternal.

My revelations were exactly what I needed in the moment last week, but that doesn’t mean they were right for me a few days later in bikini mode.

It’s okay that my reflections helped me through one piece of the puzzle, but not another.

You’re allowed to be honest with yourself when something isn’t working, even if it’s worked for you before.

Hope this is helpful for you on the cusp of ‘kini season, lovely! & last reminder: your body IS already beautiful. I do promise that.

And last thing — I’ve been thinkin a LOT about language and how that’s a really powerful tool to moving us out of tough, sticky patterns (like body image).

Something big n exciting is coming on THURSDAY… keep an eye out 👀👀👀
