Thank you Mount Sinai Medical Center, South Beach for having us last week for our Residents Work Shop! It’s always such a pleasure to provide a safe space for residents to truly take inventory of what they seek from a career in medicine and begin to map out the necessary road map to achieve it.

So often young physicians are under prepared on how the worlds of medicine and business collide outside of the protective walls of their training programs. For many it’s overwhelming and they often settle versus living in their ideal career situation. Career empowerment and fulfillment early on is one way to help truly reduce crippling burnout down the road.

Our energies are the fuel of our day. Physicians and other medical professionals need to understand these different accounts of energy to channel their power.

- Physical energy is achieved with adequate rest, proper nutrition, and good exercise. It allows us to perform what needs to be done.

- Emotional energy is supplied to the relationships we maintain with our loved ones and ourselves. This energy enables empathy in doctors.

- Spiritual energy is maintained with purpose, and as doctors continue to remain in their purpose they remain energized.
